At the part where you first encounter the brutes, there is a sniper rifle on the slightly elevated patio on the side where you come out of the indoor area. Just go down the stairs and continue straight. Go up the other stairs and turn right. It's leaning against the railing.

I always found grabbing the sniper thats near you at 2:30 and juggling it to the next door really helps speed things up when the dropships come and drop on the hammer brutes.

Fun fact, in the firefight map area, you can literally just run past all the dudes and just tap the buttons, takes some practice, but you can shave off like 4 minutes of trying to kill the wraiths and whatnot. A bunch of marines spawn and kill the stuff for you.

I've just completed my run and gotten the achievement, I find that if I used your LASO run walkthrough with a little less caution (and abandoning the more time consuming skips and tricks) I could finish with just under 45 minutes to spare. Thanks for helping me get the two hardest achievements in Reach though! P.S: I only have 3 achievements left to get (not including Tip of the Spears par time because it's glitched, or the Forge mode achievement), and they're campaign easter eggs that require co-op play, so I'm essentially done with all of Reach! GG.

I don’t think I’ve ever been able to successfully assassinate the brute, but tossing a plasma at him and then rocketing him seems to do the trick. Also, I feel as though giving the warthog marine a fuel rod cannon instead of a rocket launcher is faster, since they tend to fire in bursts instead of one at a time. Great content per usual 👍

What I found out to be useful is at 8:20 is do grenade jump to get bigger boost. More risky but bit easier than trying find absolute max jump point. (enemies above has high change to be instantly agroed to player ) Now that I know all tricky jumps my worry is just get trough all that combat ahead since RNG is not on my side.

There's a workaround to that now. From the same area he shows, you can move around the column to the left and jet pack onto the flags hanging above the walkway. From the flags you can jetpack back around the column and land on the ledge he showed.

The jet pack works fine. Make sure you jump when you activate the jet pack. The jet pack cannot carry you up there by itself. Jumping gives you enough momentum for the jet pack to get you up.

I found that, I think its something janky on the PC version, if you jetpack literally as fast as you can after you jump, but now I nail the height I seem to slip off the edge.

If you keep slipping off the ledge on your way up the building, try walking forward as soon as you land, while your meter refills.

The banshee part on PC is absolutely BS. I killed 2 banshees before they even came around behind and I still get instantly killed from outside my fire arc. Total RNG. Also sometimes the banshees will decide to end your run by banshee bombing you offscreen.

You should mention you only need 6 needles from the needler to supercombine or 3 from the needle rifle

note: if you're on PC and can't clear that jump at 8:25, go back to the part at 8:02. Every time your jetpack recharges, go up one rung in that to the left of where silver flies past. I'd suggest you go to the sides with slim upside-down triangles. You won't be able to stealth this part of the mission.

Hey Silver, I started the laso Playlist with your guides. Did they patch the checkpoint exploit you performed in your guide? I tried doing it this morning, a few times on ONI Sword Base, and it didn't work.

Sometimes it doesnt work for some people, but it should work the vast majority of the time. As long as you're hitting start quick enough, if you're too slow it wont work. You have at least a solid second or two to do it though.

Although it was a pain in the butt. At 7:26 There is a ledge to the right of where he made the jet pack jump jump that many players could be struggling with. I jumped out of bounds and got myself on the beam on the right side. I tried to get on the slope but kept falling but when I slid onto the beam let my pack recharge I was able to make it though the door. There was a crap ton of enemies but I managed while grabbing the Heath pack on the wall there. Nov. 2020

Dude I love your vids & use them always. But on this one I cannot get to the window ledge after the 3 grunts...it's like there's an invisible wall there. I get to just under the trim and not on it....did they patch it? Oh also I'm in co-op.. does it maybe not work in co-op like some of the cheevs?

Should work fine. Are you jumping before jetpacking? You want to do that right before holding the jetpack button to get some extra height.

Are you jumping before jetpacking? You don't want to rely just on the jetpack, if you jump and then jetpack right after you get higher than just straight jetpacking alone.

jump first. as you are going up into the sky use your jet pack, once the jet pack starts slowing its upward trajectory, stop using it and then use the jetpack again.

Quick tip: Just sprint in after the first 5 grunts and stop sprinting when you come to that gap in the catwalk at 1:15. Jump over and shoot while in the air, not even aiming at anything. This kills all the grunts ahead and behind as long as you jump enough times because not all the grunts have their explosives out until they notice you shooting. It's safe and saves a ton of time. That was hard to explain. I'm surprised you didn't know about this glitch. It's a common speedrunning tactic. And it works in Pillar of Autumn when you pass the area with the wraith as well. Also the beach area after getting off the falcon, you can just drive straight to the first button, press it, pick up the rocket launcher to the left. Then head toward the upside down warthog by the water, which you then drive up to the second button and use the rocket launcher to cover you before pressing the second button. Lastly, get back in the warthog and drive to the final button. This is a tad bit more risky but you encounter way fewer enemies and get through the level wayyyyy faster.

I think he’s making the guide as easy to follow as possible. I personally think a lot of speed run tricks are pretty easy if you watch them a few times, but some are too dependent on luck (maybe you get by with 1 health or maybe you die) and others are too precise (Keyes skip for example in halo 1).

​@@Falloutx360a true on the luck part! when you play a lot of campaign mode, some times you can get good scnearios and some pretty bad ones ie that beach on exodous the 2nd battery (farthest one of the landing zone) sometimes you can get a brute to hammer you as soon as you pop up with the jet pack if you use an speed run strat also sometimes the wraith is like to close to you that he's able to 1 shot you right after you are done with the 1st battery

7:26 jump doesn't work on PC. Save a frag for this part so you can grenade jump to get the height you need. It's probably gonna take a few tries because the enemies up there will kill you, shoot at them with your rocket launcher. There's also a health pack though personally I just ran past it.

I’ve ran this level over 100 times and have a few hundred hours in reach but I keep getting fucked by RNG and either not getting enough ammo or head shots not registering so I get cucked. I’m about to call it quits with this because this level alone has made it damn near impossible. I’ve gotten all other levels perfected and at or below par time but this level will just no cooperate.

Over 20 minutes now, fuck that, gonna get the par time achievement on easy. 30 minutes was the fastest I could do. Even with all his tricks. I'm sure pedrogas probably did it in like 5 minutes but that's on PC so mods and hacks and stuff. (Idk how fast pedrogas is but it's fast.

You gotta jetpack before you reach the apex of your jump. Your combined momentum will carry you to the lip.
