Didn't we rebuild after the fall of Reach decades later according to lore? So I mean people did stay there. I do find it odd that as resourceful was Noble 6 and the rest of the team was during the campaign he didn't just figure out a way off of Reach on his own and just rejoin the UNSC, you know like steal a banshee or something. I mean if they compared 6 to Master Chief, wasn't his MO finding unconventional ways to get things done or getting from point A to point B.

There's this just strange feeling about final battles where death is a inevitable end. It just gives me the ominous feeling where no matter our best attempt, we inevitably will face death. Halo Reach's final mission is the prime example of that: a hopeless, desperate battle that's ultimately just the last stand of singular to few soldiers. The only other time I get such a feeling is the final boss of darkest dungeon. They did extremely well with this ending, there's few words that can describe it in my mind.

I always loved the added detail of the Spartan corpses scattered around this level. Some people think they're actual Spartans from the other Teams (Gauntlet, Red, and Echo) mentioned earlier in the game, and some people think they're other versions of Noble Six, but I've always been partial to the idea that they're hallucinations/ghosts of fallen S-IIIs that Six knew, like what Kurt saw in his last stand on Onyx.

Halo 2 infection with friends and the clan, good times. That and co-op on halo ce and halo 2 brings back so many good memories. Times change but I'm happy i got to experience it, i doubt i will forget those moments. I value times like that a ton. Before that i played system link on the ps 1 with my father, coop on doom. That's also something that has been stuck in my head for well over two decades. There was also timesplitters, a series that deserve to be revived with passion, heart and soul put into it.

I like the detail too that parts of the HUD go away when it gets damaged too. It really is like you’re falling apart. As far as other great last stand endings go, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII has a pretty legendary one. It also has a few neat UI things it does as you’re dying, though nothing like the helmet breaking since Zack doesn’t wear a helmet.

In my play through, I destroyed 2 tanks, killed over 150 elites, about 25 field marshals and countless grunts. No matter how many anyone kills, Noble 6 only took out an entire army and then some, and the Covenant still didn't learn their lesson.

The track "Omega" begins playing after the first crack appears in the visor which is such a perfect touch it almost makes the gameplay feel like a cutscene

The very last Halo campaign mission I ever did in my Live gaming days. I legit wanted everything at 4 and after to be a surprise to me sometime later if I ever came back to it. This one game with one team was much better than I'd anticipated. There's just so much to grasp with Halo.
