Luc, you should know better. There is NO voice of Mendicant Bias in Halo 2. It’s not anything that anyone has guessed yet.
@noahcook29716 күн бұрын
My best guess? its possibly a Ancient forerunner AI that was trapped on the Keyship speaking, one that ISNT Mendicant, possibly a kind of support AI or something. Or if you want to go on a stretch, its possibly ether the ghost of the Arbiters or prophets, or even more insane idea, Ancient HUMAN. wasnt the Forerunners at this time planned to be Ancient Humans at this point in the development? IDK, my ass is probably way off atm, but hey, itd be cool if i was on the right track.
@MatthewYoink16 күн бұрын
Yo, Marty, my man, didn’t Installation 00 suggest it was the arbiters poem as the undertone voice in gravemind? Not mendicant Bias? Is that a confirmation that it’s not the past arbiters? If so, what else could it be? Unless the entire hunt is just you trolling us for fun lol

About the voice at 18:25... This was recently debunked by many people in Installation 00's discord. This is actually the voice of either the past Arbiters, or the armor they wore. This is most likely the case as it explains the need for redemption, as being an Arbiter was a mark of shame, and they were told they could only find retribution through death. It fits more with the game's themes, and at the time, Mendicant Bias didn't exist. There's also a second voice in Mausoleum suite. It has yet to be deciphered and it's still being figured out. This is one of my favorite bits of Halo lore. I love Mendicant Bias and the story the terminals in Halo 3 tell, as well as Mendicant's appearance in Contact Harvest. But to hear that he wasn't saying this reversed speech even though it made so much sense and almost everything pointed at him being the source... it's crazy. Even after 20+ years, there is still so much mystery hidden in these games.

19:09 Headsup for you Luc, it was recently debunked by Installation 00 that the voice we are hearing is not mendicant bias. AND Marty even commented on his video solidifying that it is not mendicant speaking these words. Installation 00 came up with a few theories as to who it maybe, one theory he landed on is that it could actually be the voices of dead Arbiters. There is also a second voice further into the Mausoleum Suite that sounds very different from the more deepened voice at the start. Some think it is one of the prophets speaking but none of us are sure.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the actual easter egg within an easter egg at Club Errera: after pressing the button switch at the hospital, if you go to the roof of Club Errera, you can find a second button switch that if you press it, you change the song the DJ Brute plays from Never Surrender to a remix of Siege of Madrigal. Siege of Madrigal is a reoccurring easter egg that can be found at least once in every Bungie Halo game.

18:10 That dialog actually shouldn't be ascribed to Mendicant and is, instead, the collective voice of the Arbiters. While yes most of the lines can be applied to Mendicant's position, the key part is that, in line 1, it mentions the timeframe of 3000 years. Pretty sure Mend's been seeking atonement for a bit longer than that, but you know what did happen 3000 years ago? Formation of the Covenant. I can't remember who's channel it was but there was a video doing a deep dive into the bungie lore at the time and all the evidence for/against who's voice is saying these words, I think it was mentioned that this track was written/recorded before Mendicant was on the scene.

38:36 At the end of Halo Reach, I'm more convinced that its Linda, not John. IIRC Linda was put into cryo due to a life threatening injury, it wouldn't make sense for chief to immediately go into cryo when there is still a present danger before leaving and even if he did, why put himself into cryo immediately in the hangar bay instead of going to the cryo bay first? Putting Linda into cryo immediately in the hangar bay makes sense. And back in the day, Spartans were generally all depicted as wearing the same armour, so I think makes a lot more sense that it's Lina in that cryo pod.

Hey Luc, the Sandtrap glyphs aren’t actually a significant Easter egg. I spoke a while ago to a former Bungie employee who had some major contributions to the Bungie game multiplayers. They told me that one of the devs wanted the glyphs to carry some sort of extended message or deeper secret, but ultimately they never expanded on the glyphs and it’s not an Easter egg as of right now. They’re legitimately just random glyphs for design. But I’m not sure what they would have done if they were to expand on the glyphs.
