There's 2 ways you can look at this. The most likely is; nah, Vader stomps. But, Chief has one thing to him that no one else has in the Halo universe. One thing that makes him unique. if all that mattered was what weapons they used, it would be the chief. Game Theory did a video where they worked out that the Energy Sword from Halo is a better weapon than a lightsaber. if it were to do with the force, I believe there isn't much vader could do to harm the chief with the force. if it came down to their armor, I don't think I need to tell anyone here that the master chief would still win. whats more I think the master chief would just become an orbital strike because thats what he does.

Force users are only able to influence the midichlorians around them and in other beings. Whether or not Vader wins depends on whether or not the galaxy Master Chief is from still contains midichlorians due to the Halo array firing off. If chief does have midichlorians, it would also be easier/harder for Vader to fight him. Easier if the midichlorians allow Vader to more easily use force a initial on chief. Harder if it gives chief force resistance. Vader's armor holds him back, Chief's armor enhances already above human Stats. Both are the hero/savior/chosen one of their universe. ... This truly is a battle for the ages... A legend that will outlive both of them. No matter who the winner is.

The force works on anything not explicitly resistant to it as it also works on the ground or durasteel. Vaders armor is actually pretty durable and strong. Bur he can use the force to increase that. Would love to see the fight anyway though.

Ultimately it depends on do we allow vader to use the force. If he can then he will probably win, albeit with some new wounds. However if he doesnt get the force then Masterchief would run rings around vader with his superior speed, strength, pretty much everything except reflexes. I think the most interesting fight would be Arbiter with an energy sword vs Vader without the force. I’d bet that the sangheli would be stronger and faster than vader, with a skill disadvantage. And vaders suit would work against him without the force to aid in combat.

Shadiversity did a breakdown of the energy sword, as well as one for lightsabers, and went into great detail about why the energy sword is a terrible weapon. The lightsaber is decent, but it's never used correctly (If you want to see a well-thought-out, realistic, one-touch-and-you're-dead lightsaber duel, check out the Corridor video titled "To the Death"). In short, Halo has terrible swords, Star Wars has terrible technique. Between them, it's a toss-up.

I think Energy Sword is better. Not only does the energy sword have cross guards that would make it more difficult for your opponent to hit your hand, but also lightsabers seem to struggle against electric weapons while an energy sword can slice through shields like a hot knife through butter.

the energy sword is made of plasma, a lightsaber is made from a kyber crystal and the casing around it or the hilt. I dont mean to be biased, but i think plasma triumphs whatever a kyber crystal is made of. Now for the interesting question, can you parry/block plasma in the shape of a sword from halo with a lightsaber, and to what extent? would be like mandalorian beskar where a lightsaber can pierce it if given time, or would the plasma sword just cut through the blade?

Hm. On the one hand, Vader's got the Force. On the other, the Chief has literally supernatural luck, given that's what drew Hasley's attention to him to begin with. If only one walks away, they're not doing so with all their limbs attached. More likely they're both forced to retreat before they can finalize matters, because the Force isn't done with Vader yet, and John-117 just flat out refuses to die. Interesting that you use the Duel of the Fates as well as the duel of Mustafar's theme in a lot of this, but I don't hear a ton of Halo in the music? The Theme of the Force, Duel of the Fates, Mustafar, some Imperial March...no, not a lot of Halo outside of maybe the the choir used here. Huh. Bit of a shame, I'd love to hear a full merge of the themes if it could be done. Ah well, it's still good.

In halo 4 Cheif killed the diadect who had force like powers thanks to his forerunner suit. He force pulled the master cheif for shits and giggles and he was still curb stomped despite having a promethean army. I think cheif can go toe to toe with vader. I'm not sure about winning though.

I think it depends partially on what Chief's load out is. If he's got an energy sword and plasma pistol, absolutely. Energy sword could act as something similar to a lightsaber long enough for Chief to get up close and nail Vader in the chest with a charged plasma pistol round, which should DEFINITELY take out Vader's electronics. On the other hand, he'd have a hard time with a standard UNSC load out, such as the assault rifle Magnum combo. In that case, Vader (if we're going off of legends at least, should have little problem stopping most of the rounds with the Force, and the one's he doesn't stop, well, he IS wearing armor after all. Also depends on what mjolnir armor he's wearing.

To those of you who think 117 would not stand a chance against Darth Vader, look at the Yuuzhan Vong. They came from an entirely separate galaxy without Midichlorians, thus they were immune to all direct attacks from the force, so no force choke or force push could affect them, however objects could still be manipulated and thrown at them using the force, and presumably 117 wouldn't be directly affected by the force either, so that will force Vader to try and throw objects at 117, and depending on the location, that could either allow Vader to pound 117 into a fine pulp, or make using the force completely pointless.

@@CadetFD Vader's suit would need to be sending out a wireless signal for her to hack into, which I doubt it does. And Jedi typically don't block bullets and instead simply dodge them or let their armor take the hits. In the old republic novels the jedi and sith wore armor that could block slugthrower weapons easily, which Vader's armor (at least in legends) is based on. The prevalence of this armor is why slugthrower weapons (which range from gun powder based rifles to railguns) fell out of use in star wars armies thousands of years before the phantom menace. Master chief can easily defeat Vaders lightsaber with an energy sword. If the lightsaber is swung down the middle of the energy sword master chief can twist the energy sword and disarm Vader due to the taper in the blade of the energy sword

That's not how real armed combat works. There's a reason why you don't see weapons like the energy sword in real life; they're impractical and hard to use. In that scenario Chief would get his hand sliced first, not to mention such scenario is very, very unlikely to happen. A good way for Chief to defeat Vader would be taking advantage of long-range and ballistics; firearms changed warfare entirely for a reason, and i don't think lightsabers can deflect 30+ projectiles from an asault rifle at the same time like they do with a few blaster bolts. That being said, Vader would probably win this one if Chief doesn't think out of the box or gets some backup; there's little you can do against space magic.

Lightsaber blade easily slips out. Or just continues to his hand. Or can be deactivated. Additionally, since it’s a circular hilt, twisting it wouldn’t work. You have to move the blade itself, something MUCH harder to do with the style of handle that a plasma sword users. Lightsaber has a considerable advantage in terms of practicality.

Many forgot that MJOLNIR armor have shields. And that... that's a plasma blade forged by Sangheili masters. Plus, Chief is a supersoldier enhanced by the best technologies of the UNSC. He don't need to sleep, he don't need to eat or even take a shit. He don't need batteries or anything else. Everything for him can be a weapon. He was raised since the age of 6 to be not a soldier, but something that goes way beyond whatever kind of duty a human can think. Believes it or not, in case of a Spartan get infected by Flood, all UNSC forces nearby are immediately allowed to use every meabln necessary to kill him even MAC cannons, entire vessels and ships weaponry, even nuclear weapons. To kill one single infected Spartan. Dart Vader? He was grounded by just feelings. Other than the Force and his blade, he's just a crippled old guy with good reflexes for a normal human. But Chief is not a human anymore, and his reflexes are enhanced both by biomedical, digitaland mechanicals upgrades. He weights half of a ton with his armor in. But still moves faster than a warthog. He can survive in space vacuum and resist radiations, fires... sand. I mean, against the Didact he basically left a nuke exploding on his nose and he didn't got a scratch. If the Revel Alliance or the New Republic had a single Spartan II unit at their disposal, that ridiculous parody of an empire would have lasted for just a week. Master Chief alone was responsible for the lost of two Covenant fleets, one entire planet vaporized, one refueling and supply super-station, countless legions of Covenant troops. Still, Covenant was able to wipe the floor with UNSC. Covenant are a way more cruel and ferocious and powerful enemy than the galactic empire. They literally gassing worlds leaving nothing alive behind them. The Covenant was responsible for the loss of more than 500 billions of humans and countless planets. Stormtroops wasn't even able to shoot straight. 😑 And the Flood? In two moves after their releasing on Delta Halo they managed to cripple the Covenant by infecting their capital city, that means infecting billions of Covenant civilians, and sending at least one cruiser to Earth in order to infect the planet, secure the gate to the Ark and stop the activation of the Halo Array. Two moves and the Flood almost won everything. Even the Forerunners needed 10.000 years to lose the war against the Flood. They needed to wipe out the entirety of life forms in the whole galaxy only to starve this curse from spreading. And yet they failed again. The second most advanced civilization in all Sci-fi universes. A civilization that mastered megaengineering, genetic engineering and slipspace technology to the point they was able to shape the whole galaxy to their needs. If not more than our galaxy. The only one more advance civilization was the Precursors, they literally made the life. If not properly consider them THE life. After the betray of the Forerunners, they become the Flood. And there's nothing able to stop them. But Master Chief did it. He stopped the Flood. And then he was modeled by the Librarian that made some sort of genetic engineering on him. He is not anymore human. As Dr. Halsey said: "he is the next step in human evolution". Homo Augeos. From the Greek "better". How a crippled guy with funny magic tricks can even hope to beat Master Chief, that's a mystery.
