Everytime I tried to end it before he would guilt me into taking him back. I started to think to myself that I could never have kids him because I would never be able to trust him alone with them. Hushed Tones Do ya think so? Way to be condescending on a song about having the strength to run 🙄
@hushedtones71684 жыл бұрын
actually i hear it as a song about reflecting. You can BOTH leave a unhealthy situation AND learn from your past. Those aren’t mutually exclusive. But in the song the person already left. you can fixate on the "run" part if that’s what you choose to take from it all or if that’s what you need in your life atm. But the song is about more than that it’s just one soundbite among a bigger context. And it’s also you that read what i wrote as condescending. I didn’t mean it that way 💞
@Janaely4 жыл бұрын
Hushed Tones It’s also you assuming I’m fixating in the run part. Thanks for your Ted talk tho ✌️
@hushedtones71684 жыл бұрын
it seemed to be your main takeaway of what the song is about. And it can be to you. One song can be many different things to different people at varying time and situations in life. Maybe "fixate" has a negative connotation then I could correct it by "focus" if it’s more neutral. short comments and replies are recipe for chaos and misunderstanding. It’s a trick twitter used to bio hack growth through human interaction outrage. Reality is nuanced. Not a zero-sum game or binary alternatives unlike what we see and hear everywhere. In trying to bring ideas and people together, often contradicting views may both hold some truth and build on each other. As long as it helps make better life decisions or self-reflect then it is worth having sometimes uncomfortable exchanges

"Take a broken man right in my hands and then put back all his parts" this is sadly so dangerous. some of us just feel the need to help people who seem to be suffering but sometimes we can't, and certainly we can't fix people who never see the fault in themselves.

The stripped version hits so differently.... change some of the words and it's like a goodbye letter to one of my parents. Halsey's voice is so powerful and this song brings me some peace.

Can we just talk about how her voice sounds just as good (or better) as it does on her recorded tracks? That's how you know she's actually a good singer, no auto tune going on here. ❤️

There is autotune here.

Oh, I feel the anger in her voice even if she says it doesn't exist.
@mikaela30484 жыл бұрын
I get you...i think it's cause when she wrote the song she was already in a better place and that's why she wrote about not getting angry anymore. But everytime you sing about something really personal that you lived and hurted you, you remember the pain while you sing, you know...it's part of the performance and i think it's really beautiful so yes i feel the anger too hahaha
