Halsey SAID THIS ABOUT THIS SONG ...................So we had a couple of versions of "Trouble" that were really big- and vindicated-sounding, but we kind of decided to just put this demo version on the EP instead because we felt like it had a lot more feeling. I think "Trouble" is one of the most emotional pre-chorus, choruses, I ever written in my life; "Let's cause a little trouble/Oh, you make me feel so weak/I bet you kiss your knuckles/Right before they touch my cheek." And that's a metaphor in itself, and it means that someone who takes pleasure and takes some, like, sadistic joy in making you feel bad and hurting you in a mental way. And I kinda took that and put it in physical words so you could really understand how sadistic and twisted it is to be in a relationship where someone enjoys hurting you and that's that line: "I bet you kiss your knuckles before you touch my cheek." It's this kinda like pompous, there's like a smirk; there's a smugness in this sense of like, this person is proud of what they're doing to you. But then the chorus is very vindicated and it says you know, "I've got my mind made up this time." You know it's about having control and wanting to leave and that's the thing that I sing about a lot. There's a lot of honesty in what I sing, but I also make sure that I never play the victim, and that my protagonist always has the option and the intention to leave and take care of themselves, and that's kinda what "Trouble" is to me. ....

You know what I love about her songs? Each one has a story. A raw, realistic story. Things that actually happen in life. Lyrics that mean more the more you listen. Every emotion of chaos, love, passion, anger...every emotion of humans. With every song, you become a different character, and sometimes, you're yourself.

Can you see his silhouette? Can you see his silhouette? And I've got my mind made up this time Go on and light a cigarette Set a fire in my head Set a fire in my head tonight [Verse 2] Would you lie for me? Cross your sorry heart and hope to die for me? Would you pin me to a wall? Would you beg or would you crawl? Stick a needle in your hungry eyes for me? Basically this whole comments section are full of people who are either here from a tv show or "genuinely" love Halsey. This is a god damn song not a fucking contest on who's a better fan. And for those who "genuinely love her", what were you just summoned by your undying love for her the moment her first song came out? No. You may not have found her by a famous source, but you found her somehow. Example: I found her through listening to a music playlist.

i love halsey so much but i honestly miss this so much. both room 93 and badlands were so raw and powerful and i just wish we could get that halsey back.

Everything on this album is about Matty Healy, isn't it? I've felt and lost a love the way Halsey has like this. I can say it's both beautiful and devastating enough to write an entire album about it.

My ringtone for the past year. I'm not the type of person to listen to this kind of music but halsey gives me some feelings that i didnt even knew that i had them. The lyrics make me thoughtful cause i lie a lot for a person that i love. I dont think is bad nor good but i think is beautiful when two people are together and do their best to protect each other

I love this. It's so simple. Halsey's amazing voice and a piano. And it's perfect. The lyrics are perfect. The music is perfect. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this song.
