Nice to see someone actually test a radio with test equipment. What I am curious about,# 1. does this radio come with programming software? # 2 Can you adjust the power output with the software?

+gatesmw50 Yes Wouxun makes programming software for this radio. It doesn't really come with the radio, but you can download it for free. Not sure you can adjust the power output with the software, not sure why you would need to though - you can adjust that in the menu of the radio and with quick-key buttons on the mic.

I know this video is old, but I have the new version of this rig(KG-UVR5) and the highest power I can get on 2m is 45 watts and about 35 on 440 depending on the point you are in the band. Overall though, great radio. 73 from KD9JCX

Jon Williams I hope. TYT built a new model that is 10/6/2/1.25 - they replaced 440 with 220. I'm putting up a video on that one soon also. I think they removed the wrong band though.

Nice video, crappish radio. Buy a good Yaesu or Icom instead, it wil save You a lot of worries : )

Thanks for your comments. However, at this time, neither Yaesu or Icom makes a 220MHz radio. If you want one of "the big 4" then Alinco does make a 220 mobile and it is pretty solid.
