Thanks for the overview, it’s helped me decide I’ll squeeze the trigger and order one.

Hello, thanks for your presentation, but i would have a question. How far are u able to sent with this antenna, if u would use a hand hold radio, like a Baofeng? I know it depends on several things but lets say u are on a high building and 25 meters above the ground. Thanks for your answer beforehand. 73

Hello! I usually use a handheld radio with this antenna, 25 meters above ground you could probably get some good distance at least 10 miles I suppose.

Nice video I just come across it as my HB9CV arrived. I’ve been waiting a year every time I went on there web page they was out of stock. How did you put the PL plug on the pole is there a video on it.
@RadioAntics2 жыл бұрын
Hi Terry, the PL plug came on the pole already and I soldered my coax to it. It’s a little tricky and if you don’t get it right the swr will be quite high. It took me 3 goes to finally get it right

i also have that antenna and found it tricky to attach the coax to the PL259 on the mast. By the way, Fryent Country Park (up on the hill) is where I operate from quite frequently so recognise that location. Maybe meet up there one day with our radio equipment !

Hi Martin! I found it really hard to attach the coax to the mast too. Took me hours to do. Have you managed to do it yet? I can show you how I did mine. Your name is familiar are you a member of the RSH?
@martinsalt18393 жыл бұрын
@@RadioAntics I used to be a member but haven't re-joined yet. Planning to do so very soon. I think the club meets Friday evenings, which I cannot attend. I think I recognise you from some of the pics from RSH FB page - are your initials HS ? I've found another way to mount the HB9CV onto a 6m telescopic mast, albeit at a reduced height, Have a swivel piece in the centre so it can be used Horizontal or Vertically polarised. Took that setup to do a SOTA activation on the Quantock Hills a few months ago, but I forgot to take my radio lol !!! I can show you that antenna setup if you like. PM me on FB !

Thanks I am glad you found it useful. I got it from wimo who ship them from Germany, costs about £20 postage

@@RadioAntics Thanks do they come with the mast or is that a seperate purchase
@RadioAntics3 жыл бұрын
@@agp24432 you can get them with the mast, the antenna by itself is appx 70 eur and with the mast is 99 eur. plus shipping of 20 eur. cheaper antennas are available but you’re paying for the build quality and well thought out design and convenience of the antenna
