Some are quick to criticize coils/loaded verticals, but I've had great results with the Wolf River Coils and hamsticks on a mag mount, both QRP and 100W. Their convenience and the flexibility for deployment on quick portable/mobile operations is second to none.

good to see you back Tim, sounds like you need early retirement mate, thats a long time without any radio. great on the vk, not sure, but i thought Canberra was the capital of vk land hi hi. all bands here above 20m still dead as is every year this far south, but 40m and 20m LP wide open to the uk every night recently , down to the coast tim early doors, and will probably get you. cheers.

The plastic tube used to wrap the wire around to form the coil is standard plumbing in OZ. The thread size is perfect for making these coils and unlike other 3D printed tubes, it can be bought in many lengths from local hardware stores. So if you know anyone in OZ that can send some of these tubes, making one become very easy.
