Hamas claims to have launched a “large rocket barrage” on Tel Aviv. The Israeli Army said that at least eight rockets were fired from southern Gaza's Rafah city and its forces intercepted the rockets. Sirens were sounded in Tel Aviv after a gap of four months. Hamas also said that it captured Israeli soldiers during a fight in Jabalia city, a claim that Israel has denied.

The problem as I see it is that one group has said we will not stop until we have all the land at which point the other says ok if you are going to force us to defend ourselves again, we are going to increase our presence in these contested areas so it will be harder for you to repeat the violence in the future. The more the land disappears the more justified they are to fight and the cycle begins all over again. That's why I think I'm now on this idea of Gaza as an Israel territory akin to the US and Guam. That would allow Israel to build proper schools and begin the massive effort to deradicalize the area. If it becomes an independent state down the road, fine but I don't see how that is possible right now. Not after what was done on October 7th.
