He is an Egyptian-Libyan singer and musician. His mother is Egyptian, and his father is Libyan. So, he has the best of both worlds. Hamid was influenced by the Libyan legend Nasser El Mezdawi. El Mezdawi composed the song Ouyounha (her eyes). Hamid re-arranged most of El Mezdawi's music and sang them. We must give credit to Libyan music especially El Mezdawi for their great contributions to Arab music in the seventies, eighties, and nineties.

Actually the song is Libyan accent and Libyan music arranged by Hamid before he arrived to Egypt..but Egypt of course made him a legend and he transformed the Arab music when he settled in Egypt which is called the Hollywood of the middle east
