got a 188/220 camshaft in my 5.9, it gave the truck a unique sound and I can tell a difference on spool time. it made the truck feel less lazy.

My Hamilton stage 3 cam you put in the 3rd Gen 6.7 Grey Ghost years ago seemed to make a heck of a difference in spooling and the sound was sweet. I got the ole Black Knight 4th Gen that needs that love now when you get freed up.

I do not recommend the wagler solid roller kit as the rollers are giving more issues than the hydraulic portion of the lifter.

I think a lot of us want to know if an upgrade to a Hamilton Cam - lifters - rockers will solve the cam lifter issue. Will the Hamilton Camshaft upgrade get enough OIL to have the same life as the the pre 2019 camshaft, stock engine. Does the 2019+ stock cam oiling play a partial role in the roller cam failure???
@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCEАй бұрын
Yes sir we have a great luck with swapping out to the solid tappet camshafts sir!

If I have a 5th gen and it needs lifters- could I get away with doing a big dog cam on stock turbo/fuel ? Not looking to do a full build at one time, figure I might as well upgrade while I’m in there… thoughts?

@@POINTBLANKPERFORMANCE the problem about ram ticking noise mine started when did 1st oil change and after a few research seems it’s the lifters. I don’t have factory air suspension, but I have aftermarket airlift bags. There’s plenty of clearance, but just in case I heat wrapped around the airbag

@HeidiFegles10 ай бұрын
Also it gives you more accurate valve lift, yes it’s probably not going to last as long but honestly I have 300,000 miles on my gen 3 6.7 and factory solid lifters, 600hp. Also allows you to go higher in the rev range. With a longer duration higher lift cam. Plus when you spend a life time as a millwright changing cam followers every week on every machine, you understand real quick they do not take any load hardly at all for very long before the cam follower wears and you loose .020-.030 thousandths lift. It’s the same thing with these they wear out and if you were to put a bigger cam in, increasing the load, they would fail even quicker. The roller should have less friction theoretically, but honestly look at the size of the pins and the roller, in the lifter, they are not very impressive. I’m sure some custom designed roller lifters would be better but at what cost,
@ronnierivas54785 ай бұрын
For example my 22 dodge ram 2500 @ 10k miles already has excessive lifter knock on and off from poor design on lifters. Dealership claims it’s normal hahaha FML
