Mike and others, I took a leap of faith and decided that, in theory, any aftermarket bracelet designed to fit the Alpinist should also fit the Khaki Automatic. With that in mind I ordered and just now installed the Uncle Seiko President bracelet on my HKA. With just a wee bit of adjusting of the back flat part of the end link that rests against the underside of the lugs (gently press the aforementioned part of the end link so that it is parallel to the top of the end link when looking at the end link from the side), it fit the watch damn near perfectly. I love it. Plus, this bracelet tapers from 20mm down to 16mm at the clasp, which is a simple pressure and flip closure clasp. Unlike the Strapcode used in this vid, whose clasp bumps back up to 20mm and is over-engineered, this Uncle Seiko President is really refined-looking. Anyway, I couldn't be happier. Oh, and the USP doesn't have that raised center 'link' on the end links. So there ya go, Hammy brothas! The Uncle Seiko President looks AWESOME on the Hamilton Khaki Auto for about $70.

I own that same watch... I find that it looks so much better with leather strap.. I find myself swapping out between different straps often, just to bring a new look to it.

I have the Hamilton Khaki Auto and I too got a Strapcode oyster for it. Like you, I wish it tapered from 20mm to 16mm. The slim, simple look of the Khaki would go so much better with a more refined bracelet.

I just got one of these about a week ago and I love it so far! I went with the Hamilton bracelet - I figure it’s only about $20 more than leather, it matches perfectly, and I can always throw on a leather or NATO strap down the road. Definitely a better deal than buying a Strapcode or other aftermarket bracelet. The only thing I don’t like about the Hamilton bracelet is that there are only 2 micro-adjustments, but overall it’s a pretty nice bracelet - milled clasp, solid endlinks, and of course matches the watch better than any aftermarket bracelet would. Great video, thank you!
@monkeyman82654 жыл бұрын
That’s the exact problem I have it’s either too big on the last micro adjustment or too tight removing a link and moving the micro out. I almost want to find someone that can drill another micro adjustment on the clasp. I’m afraid of attempting it myself because it would be a very small drill bit and that clasp is some thick steel.
@dofler Жыл бұрын
Same here, exact issue. Plus having a very hard time removing the bracelet to try a leather strap on it and i have done thia several times in other watches

And thank you for the first honest strapcode bracelet review I’ve seen. Don’t waste your money. Strapcode sucks. Might as well have no taper (cheap) clasp is bulky like you say and completely unrefined, fold over clasp pops out on my wrist all the time. Maybe for $40 it would be a very slight bracelet upgrade.

Great review. One thing, might be a silly question, but I can't find a close enough store that sells it to check it myself but does the rotor(or what u call it, flywheel? ) when it moves does it make any sounds? Any kind of metal on metal, grind noises when u swing ur wrist? U wouldn't hear it when ur arm is at pocket level but but when u raise it to check the time, and its kinda quiet around do u hear anything? At its price maybe it wouldn't but I'm just wondering.

Good video. I just missed the live feed. I got this watch as an anniversary gift last week and am very happy. Unfortunately, I am having a problem with it stopping over night occasionally. Do you have any advice on the winding routine for this movement? Thank you in advance.
@JustWatchreviews5 жыл бұрын
I typically don't wind mine at all unless it sat long enough that it stopped running, (which hasn't happened much as it's in heavy rotation). I would say don't hand wind unless you need to, and then if you do, follow owners manual, which is 20 winds IIRC.

Anyone know if this bracelet will work with the khaki king?
@007jjr5 жыл бұрын
Screw down crowns are critical to water resistance. Especially in the longer term. Seals dry out, crack and allow water ingress. Any sports watch without a screw down crown just doesn't cut it, and it wont. Was disappointed to learn its push in. I still may buy it, but will not use in harsh environment. That is a job for my divers. Thank you.
@JustWatchreviews5 жыл бұрын
I am careful with mine as well. I would gladly pay another $100 for this watch with a screw down crown, I wish they would make it.

Why not buy the version with a bracelet? It's a nice bracelet, very comfortable. My only issue with it is taking it off... Its very tricky to remove! 😡 So I just keep it on.... But I would like to see it on a leather someday...

Does anyone know if that Strapcode Bracelet is better quality than the bracelet that comes with the Hamiltons????
@GuitarD305 жыл бұрын
Jimmy V I’ve never owned a Hamilton but I bought a strap code bracelet before. It’s alright I guess. I would never buy it again. Stick with what comes with the Hamilton I’d say. I think it’s a total rip. Even Mike said it in the video. It’s alright but even he’s going back to a nato

@@GuitarD30 Mike had issue with the clasp but seemed to think the fit and finish of the strap code was good. I liked the clasp. The quality of the Hamilton is so so from what I remember. So I wanted a comparison
@GuitarD305 жыл бұрын
Jimmy V yeah just my opinion. I think it’s ok but for $150 dollars or whatever it’s not any kind of an upgrade. Unless the Hamilton bracelet totally sucks which I don’t know. I had an skx with a strapcode oyster. And didn’t like it and then bought a $20 seiko jubilee and I like it way way better.

Wow, very sorry to hear. The day date, though, does indeed only have 50m wr like mentioned above but the crystal shouldn’t fog just by walking in the rain that way.
