Great-looking watch. Hard to find the 37mm one, though. The 40 mm version is the one being sold nowadays. It's less satisfying because (a) it doesn't suit my small wrist and (b) the date indicator disrupts the symmetry, cutting into the circle. Your date indicator does not.

Yes these watches are very good and durable. Mine is more than 6 years old and still going strong.

You should get a nice vintage watch in the 34-35-36mm range I have a 7.5 inch wrist and have several 42mm watches but I came upon a 34mm vintage 1968 Hamilton thin line in perfect condition for cheap and love the size, weight and thinness. I lose a minute a day but it is no problem to wind and reset in the mornings. You can also find quality vintage on eBay serviced and ready to go in the 100 to $200 range, just be sure to check the sellers feedback before you buy.

5:35 there are two types of cheap leather. The one you talked about is bonded leather, the leftover scraps mixed together with chemical. There's also corrected leather, which is the shaved bottom part of the leather, the top grain is more durable, has more texture, and more expensive.

I have larger hands than you and I really have no problems using the winding crown. Many watch nerds like myself much prefer automatic watches with both hacking and hand winding, like this one, because you can set the time exactly and keep the movement properly powered. Nice review and pictures, thanks!

The ita 2824 😅 E T A this was a good video .. the hacking is really intrestresting , it was used to synchronize watches . Hamiltons are wonderful watches , very underrated. The ETA movements are movements they out in alot of higher end watches , even Omega uses versions , cant go wrong with a hamilton , especially if you buy one used , they keep their value pretty well

Good review. Good observation about ratio of lugs, I was trying to figure out what it was that seemed 'off' about the design.

I’m considering buying this as my first watch. I’m much more drawn to a lot of minimalist dress watches than I am to field watches, divers or chronos just because they seem very busy for my taste and this model seems like a somewhat dressy watch that would never look out of place in a casual setting. I love the styling of dress watches but I very rarely dress in such a manner that would really call for a full on dress watch. However, I would think you could basically dress almost any watch down with clever use of different straps. I know you really like this watch but what I’m wondering is if you were in the market today for a watch which would fill the same role as this one - a somewhat dressy yet mostly casual every day watch - and you didn’t already own this one, is there another option you would go for before choosing this one? Basically, is there anything out there right now in the $400-700 range that you would prefer over this watch? I’ve been going back and forth between Junghans, a few different Hamilton’s and perhaps a couple of Tissot offerings but I’m fairly sure I’ll end up with either a Hamilton or a Junghans. I’ve even looked at a few Frederique Constant watches but I haven’t really landed on an opinion about those yet. Sorry for being so long winded. I just enjoy hearing from people with several years of experience with a product rather than someone who spent three days with it and sold it to buy something else to review.

I actually ended up buying a Mido “Baroncelli Heritage” for my first dress watch and then I pretty much immediately got into divers and field watches. I did really like the Mido and I kept it for a while but I’m not someone who wears suits very often so dress watches aren’t really a priority for me. Right now, my number 1 go-to is my Ginault Ocean Rover II. Freaking love this thing.

The power reserve rating on the eta 2824-2 is 38hrs not 48hrs, but how would wearing it to bed while sleeping help you from having to wind it in the morning? Even if you thrash about for most of the night it would most likely still need to be wound as most automatic watches use the rotor as supplemental supply to hand winding.
@garrettthompson5582 жыл бұрын
Yo... 10mm is fucking smooth, as far as thickness goes. ESPECIALLY for an automatic. Maybe you'd be happy with some models INVICTA offers....
@MrDoggerDog5 жыл бұрын
Lug to lug is different, actually. If you remove the band, and leave the lugs in the case, then measure the distance between the lugs, then subtract one of the lug's diameters, that's lug-to-lug. Basically you're measuring from the center of the drilled hole in the case on one side to the center of the hole in the case on the other side. By subtracting one lug's diameter from the measurement, you're subtracting one half the diameter of each lug in one computation (0.5 x 2 = 1). So it's probably a little bit shorter than what you specified, unless you were directly quoting Hamilton's stated specs (couldn't tell if you did this yourself with a caliper, or just reciting what they published).

Hi Coco Jay, liked and subscribed! Awesome videos. Professional advice? Is the 42mm Jazzmaster quartz too tall for my 6” wrist? I wear a 40mm IWC Aquatimer 3548 daily and it fits perfect.
@jp44314 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. It's a dress watch. My wrists are 6.5" and they're a flat too. Any dress watch that's 40mm or above wears like a casual watch. A 42mm dress watch just makes me look like a clown. For 6" wrists, honestly stick with 38mm or below for a dress watch.

Very nice review sir! I've just ordered a Jazzmaster Viewmatic myself, and since I do also have a very thin and small wrist, do you think I'll be fine with the standard strap? Does it fit any better with the deployant buckle? Thanks :)
@MrThepinkeagle5 жыл бұрын
Hey Albert, thanks! The standard strap I think is pretty good for small wrists. I found that the deployant buckle made the whole thing a bit bigger, maybe half a size up. Cheers!
