I think Seiko fans should take a hard look at Hamilton as they have some great watches, with quality (ETA movements, sapphire crystal), at an affordable price. The Khaki and Jazzmaster lines are great value. Plus, people recognize the Hamilton brand.

As always, very nicely done. I've thought long and hard about getting this type of watch, and as you point out there are many options in the marketplace. I've only owned one Hamilton, a Khaki Field Automatic, and felt it was very nicely finished. This Jazzmaster looks to be equally elegant.

Dave, loved this review. First of all, I'm about to purchase an H10 version of this piece with the white face. Second, and most importantly, I spent 4 of the best years of my life in Lancaster. I went to F&M between 1976 and 1980. Sadly, I was there when TMI had its little "issue." Keep up the great work and thanks for the little bit of Lancaster history, too!

We had a little Radiation Vacation. I piled friends into my car and we evacuated to the Jersey Shore where I was from. I don’t miss the wake-the-dead noon horn across the street at the Armstrong plant. Those were great days though.

Viewmatic text seems too large -especially with the weir don't that is different than the brand text. I really feel like the font is incongruous with the watch - plus too big. Not enough to keep me from buying but.

It looks like the Cadisen 1032. It’s Chinese but very nice, and inexpensive.
