I heard Love is a Game in an advert at the cinema while watching multiverse of madness. That became the worst cinema experience of my life because 1. I publically cried at an advert in the cinema, 2. one of my favorite things about this album is that you can start in the beginning, middle, or end and it's cyclical so it always tells the story. Adele is so good at storytelling not only thru her songs but thru the entire album

Coming back to this after watching the last Carpool Karaoke now with the knowledge and revelation that I Drink Wine is about James Corden because Adele and James and their families moved out to LA at roughly the same time and both went through some very tough times at roughly the same times and they helped each other through those rough times because they have a really strong friendship which I love knowing now.

Fun fact: Adele said that “Can I Get It” is about casual sex. You’ll notice that the verses are about her experience of falling in love and developing deep feelings for someone, while the “can I get it” part and the chorus actually come from the perspective of a man who is only interested in having sex with her. That’s why it may sound weird / funny - it’s due to the irony of the situation!
