"Children bloom where they are planted".....That was a sign on my 5th grade class at the beginning of the year when we would look to see what teacher we were gonna have that year. I still remember that! 😊 Good job Hank!! I can definitely understand Gina's apprehension. It's a careful job being on a roof. Thanks for sharing! God bless ya'll!

Hank, silicone every screw head on the roof. Use a big enough dab to cover the screw head and around it. Much cheaper than replacing the whole roof.

Good job Hank! I have taken a hammer and tighten the nails and a little dab of silicone on each roof nail. Looks like metal is good and will last for years. Save money on roofing.

Hey Gina, (Hope I spelled that right) You can run curl and lift at the same time, its how it was made to be run. Get some forks on that tractor and practice picking up and lowering logs while moving. I promise, you will master the multi function joystick in no time. I learned on the job, doing exactly what I suggested. just keep that log in the middle of the forks, not against the backing. How bout it boys, I see some serious potential in Gina. Thanks for another Upload Hank. You are one of ten or fifteen channels that I regularly stop what I am doing to watch.

I have recently learned that if you are looking for metal roofs for houses they almost exclusively recommend “seamless” metal roofs now. That way you don’t have hundreds of screws with hundreds of small washers to worry about leaking. The type you have are still widely used on all manner of outbuildings and barns.

They sell foam closure strips that help prevent water from being blown between the ridge cap and the roof panels. Most roofing suppliers will have them, as well as lowes and home depot. Don't use spray foam as it ends up degrading and retaining moisture
@BobLester-mg4rt Жыл бұрын
Do not foam the underside of ridge cap. Install a fan blowing toward the ridge cap, will keep hot air moving and venting outside. (2 twenty inch box fans from Walmart will be great)

Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. Hank. You scared me walking on that roof like that. You did a good job putting that roof seam flashing on. Metal roofs with nails is so hard to totally seal up. Lots of places for rain to get thru. I would ask some pole building builder what the best way is to seal the roof. Am sure this day and age they have material to help seal the roof. You did good Hank. Be ever so careful on that metal roof. Thanks. The Iowa Farm Boy. Steve.
