why not try swapping the reverse solinoid with the broken 1
@shawnjosey82033 жыл бұрын
We know for a fact it’s bad. We will be replacing it.
@gjamann3 жыл бұрын
The thing is though this stuff is usually abandoned for a reason and you have to chase down really weird problems related to them. It also sat in a field for a long time so it could have water damage, mouse damage and maybe even ice damage or a broken transmission.
@gjamann3 жыл бұрын
If your just gonna sell it parting the machine out is probably going to be easier then fixing it.
@gjamann3 жыл бұрын
The other problem is if your finding a lot of shorted out/bad parts it is because something is causing them electrically to go bad through either excessive heat, current draw or hydraulic load. If the machine is stuck with a functioning always actuating it could cause all of those problems including the hard engine start because of a rusty valve or joystick.
@HamiltonvilleFarm3 жыл бұрын
The machine sat in the woods for about 6 years with the fuse panel uncovered. I’m sure there are many shorted out wires. Best case scenario I’d put a new wiring harnesses on the whole tractor.

Fix the fuel pump. Stop using starting fluid
@super69543 жыл бұрын
Exactly what I was thinking about it not starting right . The transmission not working will be the least of their problems when the motors screwed and won't run, because the ether messed up some internal components. That is what happens when people miss label machines as getting addicted to ether.
@vernchaput63682 жыл бұрын
You shouldn't need to keep squirting ether in to run,you have bigger issues.
@Eeropolvasti3 жыл бұрын
Couple things: Dont start with Starting Fluid many times, engines dont like it, fix priming issue!!! Other thing: Fix Switch first, then swapping a solenoid make sure, which one is broken!!! You can get those solenoids from Ebay!! Good Luck!=) Greetings from Lantana, Florida !

Find the air leak in the fuel system. You've got a loose fitting or a cracked metal or rubber line in the suction side somewhere.

this is Nick from being the equipment sales in Perry Georgia I had a 310g did the same thing there's a valve underneath where you guys are adding power if you pull a cover off you'll see where the solenoids go in pull the solenoids off the valves are sticking unstick the valves it'll go forward and backwards without jumping The wire

Check the vent on top of the transmission. You can see it from the left side of the engine compartment looking back towards the transmission (looking over top of the starter). Make sure that is clear. The 3 solenoids on the top left of the transmission are for the MFWD (if used), Diff lock and the Park Brake. The transmission control solenoids are under the top cover of the transmission control valve which is mounted on the top backside of the transmission. Seldom do those solenoids go bad (not to say they don't go bad sometimes). Most likely you have an FNR shifter problem. That was a common problem with those machines. You want to have it tested to be sure, they are expensive. If the shifter is OK then you may need to get your dealer to check amps at the fuse box for the transmission circuit to verify it is doing what it needs to be doing electrically. You would also have to have pressures checked to check mechanical function.

There is a John Deere dealer named Stribling Equipment. They might have the parts. I know they sell the big stuff....skidders, dozers, graders, etc... If all else fails, just take the operators seat and put it on backwards 😆
@charlesmccormick44433 жыл бұрын
Should be a check valve in the manual fuel pump up valve or close by the pump up valve , its not working , allowing the fuel to drain back to the fuel tank . You can also buy inline check valves to splice into the fuel line making sure the check valve is turned in the right direction . Could also be a fuel leak some where , seems like you would have noticed a leak though .

My John Deere 7220 just started losing power then stopped moving forward. The engine revs up fine, the hydraulics work, fluids are all full but the tractor just wouldn't move forward or reverse anymore. The tractor always had problems going into drive, i have had to put it in drive 2-3 times before it lets me go forward. Idk what happened to it today...engine sounded like it was getting weak while driving/cutting, it stopped, then it had to get towed away.

Just checking something here. If the forward , neutral and reverse gears are working BUT it does not seem to be going into 1 and 2nd gear. How do you fix that? If it appears to be an electrical problem?

Maybe the neutral needs activated after the reverse is deactivated for the forward to activate . Remember way back when you had a shifter on the floor and sometimes the linkage would get caught and not allow it to shift ? Like one rod was still engaged while trying to engage the other ? Sorta kinda maybe heck I have no clue can’t help but suggest something these shows are great entertainment !!
@jsimm45873 жыл бұрын
That sounded stupid but really it happens on a manual shift not a truck but small cars with a manual transmission it does . On the H one side works a rod for rev and first then when the shifter crosses the middle of the H it drops one side to go to the other side of the H for 2nd and 3rd . They get worn and it will leave one still in gear and gets stuck in between.. those solenoids gotta do the same . A lot of remarks for just go buy new like you got it to just throw around you’ve put a lot of cash in that 310 ! I don’t care for the “you got the cash people” they never had to fix something that you had to fix cause you couldn’t buy or was no where near help . When you gotta get it fixed ! If it’s with a rock a crescent wrench a dime for a screwdriver or a knife for a Phillips . Been there and I’m lucky to have been able ! Keep up the good work . That things gonna go Joesy need to get the meter back out and see if the solenoids are getting power at the right time . It didn’t go that time so it’s $ menu at Mack daddy’s till it’s fixed for him !

Have y'all check econ valve.,ecm control switch that controls the injectors.& the safety switches to the forward& reverse switches to. It's A safety 🔐 lockout unit that is stopping it from moving forwards.& keeps shutting it down due to that. Even after you were to fix the wiring back to the plugs it'll keep doing it. Until you change out that control switch that has wen't bad. Test them for power when ignition on.& off to for power with A 12 to 36 volt light tester. It'll tell ya what's bad.,or good for sure guys. God bless y'all to. Aswell as 🇺🇸 AMERICA.& Along with AMERICANS to. Stay safe.& all the above out there.
