I bought my '15 Mahindra 2540 (Tym with 4 cylinder 40hp Mahindra MCRD engine) in 2016 with 60 hours on it. I'm very easy on it doing mostly snow removal, maybe 4 hours of PTO mowing, 8 hours of spreading crushed concrete and sand, some stump and root pulling, and other than that moving stuff around our 2.5 acres and lots of idling (now has 120 hours). The only issue I had was it not running cleanly above 1800 rpm, and the dealer did an ECU update and it's run like a champ since. I haven't had a single issue with it. I came really close to buying a new Branson until I saw it on CL. The Deere and Kubota in the same price range weren't impressive and dealers were pretty much desk jockeys. I'm very happy with my purchase and would do it again.

I'm on my third mahindra never had a problem with any of them I put about 800 hours a year on them and I don't use them lightly. I have 2000 acres of hunting property that is manicured like a golf course. I use them like bulldozers they get rode hard and put up wet almost everyday. I'm going this week to buy another one 85 horse just because I have never heard anyone say MAN I WISH I WOULD HAVE BOUGHT A SMALLER TRACTOR!! I have a 65 horse and have hooked it to a kubota 125 horse and drug it off because all other tractors are mostly plastic. There's a reason mahindra is the #1 selling tractor in the world. If its not a mahindra leave it where you found it!!

Hank, enjoyed the one year review of your 4540. It is obvious that you are really pleased with your tractor which is a good thing. Imagine how bad it would have been to have bought a tractor that did not meet your expectations. A very nice tractor and a great review.

You and I purchased our Mahindra tractors around same time, you have edged past me on hours, I’m currently at 177 without any down time. I love my 4550, as for the r4 tires I love them, I have had several tractors all with the ag tires and was reluctant to get the r4 at first, I plow, disc, brush hog, almost everything I done with ag tires, no there not great in mud but they will make up for in other areas, especially in weight capacity with loader. I plow around 10 acres with no problem,. My recommendations , canopy, light bar, saw haul, fluid in tires. Hank and I have almost identical looking tractors. Hope to get many years of service from my Mahindra. Look at engine tags on the green and other red, they say yanmar, tym, I’ve researched and looked at them all. Mahindra beats them all for the amount of tractor for money and reliability.

How boutcha Hank? I really like your channel. I have been watching your videos for several months now. I recently started my own channel called "Tractor Talk With Gary". I have plans this winter to interview a Kubota dealer and a Mahindra dealer. I am in talks with John Deere and Massey Ferguson. I have spoken with New Holland, but have not heard back as of yet. I live in Iowa on a 224 acre farm that my wife and I own. We have featured some of the equipment that we have used on this farm. I graduated high school in 1974 and some of this equipment was working every day then and still works today. We have several tractors that are classics. I have 5 John Deeres and a 1940 Ford 9N with a buzz saw on the back of it. I do a short demo of that. I started my channel because I have always had a passion for tractors and there is a huge interest out here on the internet for tractors and the freedom of a rural life. I cut firewood and have to main Tain over 110 acres of woodland pasture with a 60 in. brush hog. It is a lot of work but it has many rewards. Most of them come from a sense of accomplishment after a full days work. I enjoy checking out your channel. Stop on over to mine and check it out sometime. Please feel free to leave a comment. I own a 4550. 40 hrs. I find it can’t climb a 20 deg. slope. It’s very heavy plus I have liquid in the tires. Is the excesses weight the reason it can’t climb? 4 wheel drive was on, rear dif locked! No weight in the bucket or attachment connected. It gets half way up the slope and both rear wheels spin and dig in. Thanks

Still debating if a 30 or 40 hp is needed for my 8 acres. I may do some small lifting jobs but mostly cutting grass.
@Noah_E Жыл бұрын
What did you end up getting? 30/40HP sounds like overkill to me. 8 acres is solidly in 25HP territory. Especially if it's primarily going to be used for mowing, which doesn't require much PTO HP. FYI - I have a NH Boomer 40 (39HP, 34.3 PTO) for 27 acres of mostly hilly woods and Yanmar YT347 (44.3HP, 39.5 PTO) for 50 acres of mostly hilly woods. Both are larger than necessary for most parcels under 10 or even 20 acres.

When I started tractor shopping I liked the Mahindra until I seen a couple bad reviews on one model. I was going with a Kubota l2510 but found a used l275... I'm happy with it and think it is built better then the new l2510... I was not going over 25hp due to the regen.... The l275 is a tank hi low ranged four gears In each...love that old school and the purr of the kubota three cylinder.... before this I bought a b7800 hydro and it amazed me just what a 16hp tractor with fel and backhoe could do.... But I find I really dont miss the hydro except maybe a little during loader work..... Dont think I will ever need another, but if I do I will check out Mahindra....

My 4540 tractor started running hot, in the red on dummy gauge. Radiator was clogged with dust and debris which I cleaned up. Overflow bottle was above maximum and radiator was low. I drained some fluid from bottle, looked good no contamination. Same with radiator...Refilled radiator. Ran tractor with cap off to make sure all trapped air escaped, lots of air and bubbles. Replaced cap and test run tractor. Running cool again but fluid and air going to Overflow again, even while running cool. When I first removed radiator cap after complete cool down next morning there was pressure in radiator. I'm thinking bad thermostat or cap... Any suggestions?

My fiancée and I are going to be purchasing a house that was resined to 2.1 acres. The older couple on the property are going to be building a tiny house and the end of the lot(total lot is 11 acres roughly). We would have the potential to buy most if not all of the land later down the road. Currently they have a 4550 with the loader that they will be selling once their work is done. Would this be too much tractor for the 2 acres considering we would get more acres later in your option?

Nice tractor. How come the front loader says 4550 on 4540 model? An upgrade? Hoping to get one of these!

@@HamiltonvilleFarm thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I've had my eyes on one of these for some time now. Looks like a lot of tractor for the money!

@@blackriflemensorganization6139 It seriously amazes me how much it can lift and pull and drag. I'm not sponsored by Mahindra or anything like that, so I have no reason to sugar coat...but I really like the power of this tractor. It's heavy and dependable. The only thing I wish sometimes is I would have got a PST. The clutch is kinda tough on my old knee.

My grandfather has a Mahindra and it’s always been a good running and strong machine, but Iv fixed multiple leaks and they don’t build the loser strong enough for how much power and lift strength it has.

I have no idea why more folks dont buy gear-drive tractors. I have owned several tractors from several manufacturers. Hydrostatic drive SUCKS! it works pretty much ok, but the hst pumps are deafening! a guy can't hear a damn thing after operating one for an hour even! multiply that by at least 2 if you have a cab on it.
