@@Hamm-toneGuitars so if I understand it, we can build one of these in the five week course? That would be amazing!

I had a Zenith. Amazing guitar.

I had a 1939 Olympic, but currently only 1941 Olympic and a 1940 zenith. Best guitars made in the Archtop family.

Cool axe. You can get quite a range of tonal responses. Sounds a bit like a Banjo when not capoed. When capoed it has that Rawlings bright punchy thing going on. These tiny arch tops are great for a fairly accomplished flat picker. Not so much for a mostly strummer doing chords. I have a 1941’ Epiphone’ Ritz . Lower bout is 14 1/2”. It fits the bill pretty well for that Rawlings stuff

I agree with you 100%. It works very well capoed up. A ‘41 Ritz?! That’s awesome!

@@Hamm-toneGuitars Yeah the Ritz model is fairly scarce. Only made for couple years. All blonde tortoise bindings

Your prices are really reasonable -- and that guitar is on a whole other level compared my modern Epi Olympic, far louder and richer-sounding. I think a real carved top makes the biggest difference -- would you consider doing carved-top conversions on those modern Olympics, or would the cost of that job make ordering a new one from you a more sensible decision?
@Hamm-toneGuitars11 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind words. I have worked on a lot of the new ones, and I’ve owned three late 30s/early 40s Epiphone Archtop’s. There’s simply no comparison. Unfortunately, the amount of work that would go into converting one of the new pressed top style guitars, considering the polyester finish and other little details with construction, it would be an expensive conversion. It’s surprising how much mass polyester, especially a thick polyester finish, adds to the guitar.
