My brother and dad raced at I-55 actually my dad prep the track every week for a couple of years back in the 90's. I-55 is a fast tracks nice long turns to carry momentum.

I believe that motor will get you some wins. Miss the days racing IMCAs, late models and super mods at the ole 1/2 mile Manzanita Speedway in Phoenix, AZ. You could really carry some speed on that track. As Joseph said, "I wanta go faster." Sadly Ole Manzanita is gone. Love watchin you guy kick the dirt around!

Is Rome still running? Last i seen they had narrowed the corners alot but i thought they only ran 3-4 events a year there now. Haven't been there is along time, by far the Fastest 1/2 dirt ive ever seen. Would love to take my son down if they are running again, he went to alot of paved races with our car`s , help build them and ie talked about Rome to him many time but he probably thinks i`m just talkin smack about how fast the track is. I`m about 4 hours North but it would be worth the drive to let him see the track. Last time i was there the water truck sliding around the track was the 1st event to watch (if you know much about Rome this will make sense)

They haven’t changed the track. But they race 5-6 times a year. I’m usually at Rome every race with my car

@@moodyracing4m55 Changed wasn't the right word i guess but watching videos from prior Rome races they have dropped some large tires on the track corners that narrow the turns. Keeps cars further away from the inside wall but it may be safer. Last i was there before moving up north those were not there. When is the next race down there, maybe i can get my son down to see it?

@@moodyracing4m55 Dad would haul to Rome back in the 60's and early 70'`s before moving to paved tracks and grand national sportsman i think it was called, said the track was so fast it scared some people back then that some of the big $$$ teams/cars would go elsewhere making it easier for the back pocket racer. When i was there i noticed that streets/bombers even had bead locks on the right side. The latemodels rarely had the LF tire on the dirt and some fast truck series was also carrying the LF often.. Been many years, house burnt down in N GA, wound up moving to WI to help dad with his paved track cars. Back in TN so me and my boy will try and make it to the May 24th event.
