I had one of my case sides shatter in my hands. I was moving it to clean it out and poof shattered to the tiniest little pieces and sharp glass EVERYWHERE. I instantly went into this vid thinking it was going to shatter like mine did. Looks like I had a faulty panel, but I would NEVER dare do this lol. Looks like witchcraft after my previous experience

Tempered glass is always funny, it can take hammer hits all day at center mass, but you barely drop it on one of the corners and it shatters.

Had the same experience, my pc still has no side panel so I have to block it using my table. Pretty sure it has something to do with the corners being weaker though.

That's because tempered glass actually flexes. If you hit it in the center, it can absorb the shock. If you hit the corner, it can't because the direction of the force is different. Untempered glass will also break easily if dropped on its corner or edge.

Mine shattered in my hands while I was getting it out of the case, luckily didn't get cut anywhere but man. Emailed Corsair support and they sent a free glass panel to me even though my case was out of warranty.

I used to work on the driver side door line at the BMW plant in South Carolina. Installing the window required you to hold it with both hands and slam it into the regulator inside the door. typically, very strong glass. But every once in a while, I'd go to grab one and as soon as I applied pressure between my fingers and thumbs it would explode. Thank God for safety glasses. We played Russian roulette with that glass for a few months before the manufacturer fixed the defect.

he intentionally didn't put it against the wall so the case bounces back as gravity holds it down, very little energy is transferred to the glass, plus his hits must be super weak if he didn't even at least knock over the case, also if it was against the wall the kinetic energy would be transferred more efficiently and would shatter the glass

Tempered glass is also used for shower cabinets. Once I came back from work and saw thousands of glass particles all over the bathroom. The glass decided to break into thousands of pieces when I wasn't at home. I'm glad that this didn't happen during a shower.
