Was playing last night. New base...had water problems and ran out of food. 10 biologists died...no others ..just biologists. Game over. No one to tend the plants 🤷

Small domes can have 5 connections, medium and lager 6. I do a different layout, that might be more effective. Have two "hubs" connected, BioDome and Storage. Canteen and Processing connected to both. Second Airlock on the Processing, with mine outside. Dorms I place on O2. Hallways removes space to build inside lab and control center. Lab to Bio. Factory connected to Processing and Storage. Robotics to Factory and Processing. Sickbay and Gym to Canteen. I get peoples in and production going before Factory and Robotics. Outdoor stuff placed along cliffs and smaller open areas. Expand with a second Processing connected to Storage (and Factory if possible). Second Bio to Storage. Then can continue with the pattern. Control Center to Canteen and a Storage with many Airlocks, with landing pads outside. If space for it, then create a ring of domes around the pads so visitors have to pass the Control Center if to access the main base. The ring should consist of domes that visitors are interested in and hopefully visit before the main base. A small trick to get domes to fit later on, is to place the later domes with hallways, then the ones you want, then remove the later ones. EDIT: You might squeeze in 7-8 domes on a "very large" depending on their sizes.

Isn't it better to make a storage at the center with canteen, biodome, processing plant connecting it. That decreases a lot of walking around.

I tend to build canteens and bedrooms off an O2 building as these buildings take a massive amount of O2 in one hit. I try to make sure the Canteen doesn’t have through traffic unless it’s bookend by an o2 on either side.

Oh, wow! You haven't played each of the planets all the way through? Could get interesting to see if you can, but that would be a lot of long videos. I am assuming you will have to do a few "do-overs" like the rest of us giving this game a go. I agree it makes sense to start out with the largest solar panel and power cell as possible, but I always run out of metal and plastic long before I have all of the basic structures needed for survival of the colony/mining camp.

I always change my meat machines so that they make one of each meat. Beef, Chicken and Pork.

Doesn't matter. The type of meat has no bearing on anything, unfortunately. The only thing meat does is make burgers and the burger recipe is the same no matter the kind of meat. I just keep mine on chicken.

I am doing great with this game, BUT how do I get the attention of the personnel to attend attention to machines to manufacture what is needed!!

Hey man! So disable structures that you don't need and prioritize the structures you do when a personnel shortage exists. Example - Workers get injured from mining and you have no medical but have ore. Disable the mine, prioritize the factory until you get workers healed up

Your video is helpful, But your explanation of plants was painful!! The plant/starch/food ingredients could have used the help screen to make sense of it all. Everyone builds different, thanks for your content

If you haven't found out already, you have to buy tech. You'll need to sell items you make to get enough money to buy tech from trade ships. Some trade ships will have tech for sale, some won't. It's pretty much pot luck. Hope this helped
