They had a Hammerin' Harry machine in the hotel on a school trip to France I went on in the mid 90s. I never got to play it, but I always remembered it for some reason.

They made an NES version of this game, but it was only released in Europe. There was also a sequel released only in Japan.

I'm playing it right now and from my experience, it's not very hard by 80s arcade standards. This might become my second arcade 1-coin-clear ever after DariusBurst Chronicle Saviors' arcade mode (the middle route is my best though).

I'm pretty sure that's because the Irem M72, the arcade system this game was developed for, had a very Megadrive/Genesis-like sound chip. Mr. Heli/Battle Chopper and R-Type sound the same.

I remember being about ten watching this game in the arcade and being blown away by the graphics and game play. Innocent times. I just cant enjoy gaming now - first person shooters are okay but how many of them do we need. Nintendo have lost their way and are far too cartoony and not in a good way. Are the targeting 2 year olds? (Sounding like every older generation from the begining of time.)

this game might seen a little antisocial and hilarious for taking down Harry's residential area, but why is it acting so cute with a big ass hammer? also hammerin time line is hilarious, it is like spoken from a black man's mouth. The default no 1 leaderboard name is the un-localized Japanese protagnist also the music slaps
