@@groovayfunkay I would love to but Neil has never competed so I don't have competition footage to break down. Possibly I could look at Michael Chandler who I know has used some of his stuff in MMA.

I'm excited to see you are making instructional. Your videos are always absolute gold! I would love to see an instructional that dives deep into the over under clinch and how to apply it in MMA/grappling. I've seen your translation of Fedor's video and I'm wondering if you could elaborate on how to off-balance your opponents from the position. Thanks!

Thank you so much for covering this pass. I believe there is huge technical real estate out there in low posture passes vs closed guard. This works really well with the Sao Paulo pass.
@SonnyBrown4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting! Glad you enjoyed it, yes once you have the arm it is essentially a variation of Sao Paulo passing but some of thedanger has been removed as they have limited mobility.
@sambofusion94862 жыл бұрын
Love this pass and use it often. Picked it up from Mario Sperry’s Vale Tudo series and added tons of my own details, insight and tricks. I usually don’t stand up because it makes it easier for my uke to get the arm free. Once it’s under his lower back with my weigh on top it creates a lot of friction making the arm trap tighter without using strength.
@SonnyBrown2 жыл бұрын
Yep, Ive gone back to watch it on the Mario Sperry instructional a few times. Got a breakdown coming up on it also.

Who are the freaks who gave this a thumb down? It's a great technique, brilliantly explained
@SonnyBrown4 жыл бұрын
Why thank you! While you can never know why people thumbs down my guess on this one is that it deviated from my usual style of breakdown videos.

this is also my go to pass but I usually just let it go after I get to side control. I have to try these finishes.

I once saw a similar technique by Neil Melanson, but he was passing on his knees and I often got triangled when trying it. With your stand up variation I shold make this work once the covid-19 situation is over.
