Hammerschlagg is a fictional WW2 German fortification,maybe,but the turntable is real !!!

Excellent! I always wondered how these railway guns were used, since they can't really be aimed on rails for obvious reasons.

Well it’s I think one of 3 ways Turntable Curved track Or parallel track with switches, like multi track drifting

I read some of the comments so I understand how exactly you made through series of modifications however will it be capable being able to turn on a curved track

Is it a kit or a model that is already built
@jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy33946 жыл бұрын
The only kits are the railway gun and the tracked armour, everything else is scratch or kit-bashed
@angeltransportpjects6 жыл бұрын
The train we see emerging at the start of this video sounds a bit like a British Rail Class 20 locomotive! Other than that this really is a modelling masterpiece ... Nice Work :o)

What is the make & model of the Switcher engine shown in this video?
@jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy33947 жыл бұрын
Do you mean the loco? I scratch built it on a Kato chassis. It's not a copy of anything specific just something I dreamt up as a sort of experimental armoured loco. I did use some components from a Dragon armoured train static model kit so I suppose it's a bit of a 'cut n shut'!
@punkrockpub7 жыл бұрын
Hi Jason! Where did you get the armoured walled roundhouse turntable at? Also, did it include the rear steel wall on the end of it?
@jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy33947 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. The turntable is a Dapol OO gauge kit which i modified. I couldn't get an N gauge turntable long enough!! The turret platforms and end plate were scratch built.

No but, but I was a model maker before I got into model railways.

Hi Jason!! Who is the company that made the model of your LEOPOLD Gun?
@jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy33947 жыл бұрын
It's a static Dragon kit that I converted using and old coach chassis so that it could run on the track
@punkrockpub7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jason for your speedy reply!!! :-) Did you replace the original kit's bogies with some of real "N" scale bogies? And if so, where do I go about getting some bogies as well?
@jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy33947 жыл бұрын
I literally took the bogies off of an old N gauge coach that I had and grafted them onto the Leopold kit. It has the wrong number of axles to be accurate but I wasn't too worried about it.

Leopold looks Great!!!! Also, what type of system did you use to make the 88mm guns turn atop the bunker? I wish to build a diorama similar to yours. But, I won't copy it. :-)
@jasonpierce-newmodelbarmy33947 жыл бұрын
The 88's are scratch built from styrene rod and other bits from my huge hoard of scraps. I never throw anything away that might come in useful on a layout! The remote turn on the one moving gun is linked to the blast doors and is controlled by gears which I manually wind.

You forgot to put propaganda nazi swatica flags LOL. If you are really bored you could make a little n gauge hitler in his bunker surrounded by russian army in Berlin and make the dcc sound from a cut of the movie "Downfall" :D
