Been on 2 shootings as a Emt/firefighter.. Both people defending themselves with a 380 against 3 attackers… All 3 attackers were hit with 1 shot each, and all 3 attackers went down w one shot…. Don’t overlook a 380…

Hey, it makes a hole on a criminal attacking you, it’s good. Hell, a classic J frame with 5 rounds is still relevant. It’s a matter of practice and a trained user.

Or, even easier, just release a PDP chambered in 380 But they had to make the oddball hammerfired PD380 single stack for… reasons?

@@garrettlundy3959 I assume that they are able to make the the PD380 more cheaply than a proper micro PDP. It's weird though because apparently the gun is a tilt barrel design vs. blowback and the slide is steel, so I'm not sure where the cost reduction is coming in. I do like that it has a paddle mag release. I thought Walther had given up on that. Of course it's stupid to push something on the American market that they don't like, and it will likely negatively impact sales.

Is it possible to pull the slide back far enough to load a round but not quite far enough to cock the striker like in the 1st Gen CCP models? Can you test this so we know if they fixed this safety issue

My biggest complaint with reassembly is the almost-blind "gravity dance" that's often necessary to get the piston back in its hole. The hole edge should be chamfered or beveled and / or there should be guide rails molded into the frame to guide the piston to the hole. It's just more difficult than necessary (and this is coming from a Ruger Mark II owner...).

Thanks for the video. Very thorough review. Not a fan of the magazine disconnect though. I carried as my service pistol an HK P7 M13 for about 14 years. That pistol was of a gas delay design in 9mm with the squeeze cocker mechanism. I’m surprised they didn’t adopt the side operated take down “button” which was easy to do I doubt whether it’s still under patent. But I’m sure they had their reasons. Thanks again.

I like the idea of the gas delayed design in 380 acp and the low pricepoint but the low capacity for its size and not as good trigger made me skip it. I feel like the Walther P22 is the best Umarex design they have (although the PK380 is nice too).

Also the CCP isn't a true Walther. It's made by Umarex in their Arnsberg plant, and the substandard quality shows in the design of the internals.

Hi nice job,... Thanks. I just bough a new one and was very surprised there were no lands and groves inside the barrel. No sharp edges anyway, the lands seem more like slight humps. that fade into the groves Is this common to this model? I can not hit the broad side of a barn with it....

You had mentioned that the Walther has a relatively light slide, however, you had also mentioned that it wasn’t the lightest-which concealed carry pistol(or pistols)have you found to have the lightest slide? For another around the house gun, I'll grab a Ruger Security 380 instead. Double the capacity. When it comes to double stack 380s, it's only competition is the Bersa Thunder Plus. Glock is slackin

These mid-size high capacity.380's have appeal but I've become dependent on my LCP Max; 11 rounds, super light and I barely notice it in my pocket.

@fallensummit it’s definitely snappy compared to full size 9’s, but not overly unpleasant/painful to shoot. The fatter grip makes it a lot nicer to shoot IMO when compared to the single stack 380s.

There’s a lot going for the CCP - particularly the ergonomics. But the right-hand only safety and no optic support is a deal killer.

Putting an optic on a compact .380 handgun is absurd. Making it optics-ready would simply drive up price for something almost no one wants.

How many and what gas-delayed pistols have you seen ?

It is not a common system in pistols, the entire CCP line is gas-delayed. The H&K P7 and a few more obscure one such as the Steyer GB.

I really like Walther and own several of them in different calibers but this gun does not impress me at all. It looks cheap and I definitely don't like the trigger. I own the 22 version of this and that fixed barrel design is a pain to breakdown and put back together.

Glad it’s a easy rack but why complicate the take down if you can’t clean it pretty much useless simple is better imo is Walther making these or are they farming it out
