I found your video and I am too an engineer that travels to LongIsland NY for business meetings. You have have a nice portable setup and I do not know any hotels that have windows that open there. I have a different radio that has a built in tuner but otherwise a similar setup. I will start looking for hotels with trees to throw an antenna out to operate. I agree Mag loops are great but hotels keep you from using them due to the shielding. Thank you for the video.

I plan on doing a review on my mini mag loop as it is the perfect size for travel. Unfortunately nothing but a few birdies in the hotel room. Several other YT hams report the same thing with inside the room antennas. Once I got a wire out the window, signals appeared.

Which paddles are those? They look cool!

A co-worker, genius mechanical engineer and relatively new ham made them. Helps to have a basement CNC machine. I gave him some idea mods to productize them. They are nice.

I got my wife one of the Evolve laptops and she likes hers a lot. Let me know when we are going to POTA together again. 73.

For $60 you can't go wrong. I took out the modem and added a 2nd solid state HD. Runs WSJT-X & DXLABSUITE. N1MM starts fine but I haven't put that through its paces yet. Will talk to you later this week.

Yeah, not much you can discuss during a FT4/8 exchange.
