Two things I enjoy , the rain on my hammocks rain fly and an Owl sounding off , out in the Swamp. I camped in a tent in the late 50's as a kid. After that trip it's been hammocks when possible which is most of the time. About 15 years ago I again camped in a tent and got flooded when a severe storm came ( A tornado in Texas & 90 mph winds ). No hammocks were allowed. I was wishing I was in the wood line and in my Clark Tropical Hammock. Never had a hammock flood on me , Guess if that ever happen I would be swimming from the campsite. Best piece of camping gear in Florida's swamps is a Hammock for a multitude of reasons.

I camp in black bear country and lately have been better at hanging my food bag (just bought an Ursack and started using the PCT hang method.) prior to that I admit I was a bit lax. I’m assuming you’re hanging out in grizzly and black bear country but your hang method appears to rival my old style a bit. Lol. Is it the camera angle? It appeared very close to your camp and low in the tree? Not judging, just curious about your experiences and what your thoughts are. I do enjoy your videos! Thanks
@steamdome8202 жыл бұрын
PS I didn’t have commentary on-maybe you covered it.

I'm trying to be better about hanging my food too. We only have black bears here but they can still get into your food. I couldn't find a tall tree with any branches up high so I settled for that christmas tree 😅 It was also way too close to my camp like you pointed out...I didn't want to venture far from camp lol.
