I've used a tarp and hammock almost exclusively in all seasons, severe spring storms, winter snow, all of it. But my tarp is WAY bigger than that one! Rain comes sideways you need shelter! But I love how you can kick back in your hammock and still cook, still look around at nature.

i really want to get myself a bigger tarp, maybe with doors. But it costs a lot of money, or takes up a lot of space. Can I ask what kind of insulation you are using under you, when sleeping in a hammock? Pad? Underquilt?

@@LeviGAdventure Aquaquest tarp, 10x13, weighs 2 pounds, costs around $100. Lifetime Warranty. If that’s too much money get a plastic tarp from Harbor Freight. I use an Army poncho liner as an under quilt, or an insulated mat.

I just happened to find your Channel and decided to take a look. I watch a few camping/bushcraft channels: Simon a Bloke in the Woods, Kent Survival, Xander Budnick, Don VonGun whenever he posts, and a few others sometimes. I also watch a couple of van living videos because I enjoy going vicariously to all the places I'll never go. I wish you luck! I'll subscribe to give your Channel a boost.

I'm actually already subscribed to all of them except Don VonGun. So thanks for the tip, his channel looks interesting! Thank you so much for you comment, it's always nice to see people willing to spend time watching the video and commenting! And thanks a lot for giving me a shot by subscribing. It means a lot! 🤩

For a bigger tarp, I think that some of them can be purchased via Amazon or PayPal & you can do monthly payments. I have sometimes got stuff this way when money is tight
@LeviGAdventure2 ай бұрын
I didn't know those sites had that option. I've just got delivered a tarp that I bought (from Onewind). But when I start looking for an underquilt and overquilt, I'll be sure to see if I can make a downpayment plan, because those are pretty expensive 😱 Thanks for the tip!

I have a 2x2 tarp but think I need a larger. How large is your?
@LeviGAdventure3 ай бұрын
I think my tarp isabout 2x2. Maybe a little bit more. I woudn't feel safe in it in windy conditions. You always have to keep in mind the gear you store under your hammock as well.

You need at least 3x3 tarp or even 3x4 for better shelter from wind and sideback rain, not only from sun
