I recently started watching your videos. Just saw this video and it was hilarious! It had everything, scary, fun, interesting, WOW it was very noisy at night, informative, beautiful views, and enjoyed the odds and ends as well. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos. A friend of mine went on the AT so I’ll have to show him this one! Your both lucky to be with each other doing things you enjoy a lot. Susie is a sweetheart and a real trouper. I’d miss the donkey too! Keep on doing your video’s. As you say- Strength and Honor my friend. Thanks again

I dont like spiders either... dont feel bad. When I was in the Army I had point and I walked into a HUGE web and I felt a river rock fall on my shoulder... only it wasn't a river rock. I gave away the whole position and situation; lucky it was training LOL.

In the Yukon, there is a small dog, known as a bear dog. Just a little thing really, and Lucky was her name. because when we got her she had a broken front leg. And dad decided to fix her up rather than put her down. Unusual choice for my dad. Normally he woulda used a bullet. Anyway, that is how Lucky got her name. So, I was about ten years old, me and my dog were living in the bush at the end of a road as usual for us in the summertime. That giant canvas tent, with lodge poles to build it. We were following a trail in the bush. And poof, a Bear. Giant big grizzly. yes folks, the Yukon is Grizzly country. Well Lucky, charged right at that old bear, yapping her little head off. I was screaming for Lucky to come back. And that old Grizzly, just decided, we were too little for a decent snack, and turned tail and ran off into the bush. With my little Lucky chasing her for a short ways. Lol. Later on in her life, Lucky decided, all testosterone bearing creatures were evil, and were worthy of being attacked every time. Well, we were outnumbered in the house when it came to man folk. So we gave our little Loved Lucky to a friend who had no male relatives, lived alone, and she had a great life as a little lap dog. Like I said, Lucky was just a little dog, not quite toy, but not even close to the medium sized breeds either. RIP little Lucky!

Luke, the secret to keeping spider webs off you is to break a good size branch off that has small limbs for light weight and hold it out in front of you. A really good branch is when you hold it out in front of you it almost touches the ground and is up to the top of your head and knocks all the spider webs down. I learned that trick along time ago. I ride mtb in the woods all the time and have mounted a car antenna on the handlebars to catch the webs, it works good.

It's funny the things people are scared of in the woods are not the things that are really threats. She makes a great point that your mind makes things worse than they are. And the things that really are threats people have no fear or even awareness of. Like Lyme disease and Norovirus. Great video!

yet another great vid, here in New Zealand we have tramps you call hikes , but theres nothing that can injure you, we have zero poisonous things , no bad insects , no bears , no horrible wild animals, just the most stunning scenery, tho the weather can get very changeable. In fact just last month a British tourist died in the mountains behind where I live he was hiking on his own and the forcast was for snow and high winds, he fell off a waterfall to his death . So the moral of this story is if you go tramping in NZ carry an eperp which is an emergency beacon and if you get lost stay put

Susie and Luke. Glad you both made it through the night in the bear burritos. Ha! You probably have a better chance of being cocooned by spiders than eaten by bears. Although predatory black bears are out there. I have a Hennessy hammock. I do like sleeping in it. Great to see you both enjoying the overnighter. A stiff adult pop is a great way to view the stars.
