The most touching moment between the film of them was never filmed - when Hammond had his (first) accident, Jeremy and James dropped what they were doing and drove as fast as possible to be at the hospital and it was while driving Clarkson had flashbacks to his last desperate drive to the hospital when his dad was about to die

Oh, I remember that very last TG episode with only May and Hammond. Felt so weird to see the studio with only those two in it. Also, that "last" GT episode really is hard to watch, I think in a way that it was the moment they (or at least Clarkson) could say good bye to TG as well. Let us hope that the specials keep coming out at a steady pace to still bless us with their shenanigans. Growing up with these three, I don't want to think about the day they decide to retire, eventhough I know that day comes closer and closer. These three are special, and I am thankful for being able to see them on TV throughout the years.

James has stated in several interviews that he had just signed up to work on another project when he was given the job on top gear. this clashed with the first series filming, so he waited for the 2nd series later that year to join Clarkson and Hammond. It was always meant to be Clarkson, Hammond and May, the BBC just couldn't wait a week.

Yup. The two shows are mostly laughs, but a surprising number of moments are quite moving. I'm not even British, but I got misty-eyed watching a few TG series finales, like the one closing out S20 with all the British-made cars and other motorized vehicles. There are plenty other examples not in this video. Still, I think Clarkson driving a 928 to say goodbye to his dad has got to top all the rest.

it's also really important and significant to him because when he was in such a bad place with the media and the BBC, James and Richard left a steady and successful career to support and continue to work with him and all of the top gear fans that followed them over from top gear to the grand tour, proving it wasn’t the BBC that made them successful it was themselves.

The utter face of joy of Jeremy at 0:46 while James and Richard pull over is the same level of feelings and sentiment at 6:06 when he has to say goodbye to the tent and the live audience. That's how much GT and the 17 years since the start of TG (16, James) meant to him. And to all of us who have lost hours and hours watching them being stupid, angry, using terrible accents, going everywhere, wielding machetes, screwing with another cars, arguing again, and then laughing and caring for each other. Hopefully later on Amazon and Clarkson decide to return the tent or even the travelling show. But, as a fan from a far away place from England, where hippos roam and people mate with donkeys, thank you, Jeremy, for all of this. And thank you, Niks V, incT and all the other compilers of those great moments of the shows. I would also put the end of the Britcar race in the compilation, but again, thank you.

I was told something by my best friend along the lines of “don’t be sad he’s gone, be glad he was here” and you take all the great moments and despite the pain, you do laugh to yourself and have a warm feeling. Sounds strange but only those who are there will understand. Steve you are his legacy and never forget that. You honour him everyday by never forgetting. that was the really great thing abt these three men. they’ve always such a strong and tight bond, galvanised by what they’d been through, each and together. and despite all that happened: the drama, the fights, and even loss… they never blamed us for a moment of it. the way they thanked their viewership for watching always felt genuine and when Top Gear, and now The Grand Tour (as we’d known it), ended… it was as heartbreaking as it was heartwarming. we have the memories, and of course the internet as archival, and each other. i can’t think of anything better really. i’m just so grateful for all they’ve done. cheers

My favorite scene of all time is and will always be the first show of "The Grand Tour" in America where Jeromy driving the blue Mustang was joined by Richard driving the white stripped red Mustang and James driving the white Mustang. That was emotional.

I'm 19 and teary eyed about the end of an era. These three men, the TV Holy Trinity as I call them, were my childhood tv entertainers, as I watched every episode. Same thing with the Old Top Gear Show with Tiff, and the new Grand Tour. I was in early single digits when I was introduced to the season 1 of Top Gear with Jason. I never looked back as I was hooked. When James May came on board, I enjoyed it even more. These three men will go down in my "book'" of TV history as The Holy Trinity.

Nice. In some ways they were closer in the early days (if you want some more) : Jezza picking up Hammond to write on the lap board & to get him out of the concrete in TGGF, moments in S05E06, the 24hr race, James hitting his head, and I always like the way Hammond tended to James when he was thrown off his horse!

And I want to try to find full episodes of all of top gear shows so I can continue to watch the full series of it and continue my childhood with my kids. Yeah, because for one, it was just the two of them.No stig, no Clarkson, a empty studio looking abandoned, and them with three cars.Three cars, symbolising the trio. When they said goodbye it was quiet, and you could tell they wanted to say more, but just couldn’t, and then it ended. That was the end of an era, a show beloved by many, a show that wasn’t afraid to poke fun and make jokes, a show that didn’t need you to love cars to enjoy it.What came after is not TOP GEAR, it is just a boring car show/documentary, with presenters who encapsulate none of the charisma that the trio had.

The empty studio. No Jeremy. No fooling around. No bombshell. When May and Hammond said goodbye, I genuinely didn’t think they’d meet up again. It felt as if something had fallen off my heart even if I hadn’t watched the show for that long. The soundless, quiet credits left me shocked, and I understood that as the end of an era.
