I just started with JS8call yesterday and watched this today. This was very helpful. Thank you. I do not do APRS yet but I think you misspelled "EMAILADDY" around the 1:06:00 mark which may be why it dd not go through.

QUESTION regarding the @allcall to hear Mike...... was all the YES's automatic or did the operator have to respond manually?

If they had auto replied turned on, it was automatic. Otherwise they were promoted to reply.

I’m a WDJT-X Veteran but learning JS8CALL software seems difficult… Mike (K8MRD) I’m a retired Server Support engineer and have over 20 years professional IT and computer experience, and I’m still having problems understanding this JS8CALL too. I have monitored JS8Call on multiple bands for several days doing hb/ack. The Achilles heal - no operators on the mode.

Mike's criticism of the manual is valid, although a little harsh. Jordan Sherer put in a lot of time and effort to write the code (looks like over 2 million lines of code) and release it as Open Source to the amateur radio community. John did call it an "experiment", after all. I think when dealing with things provided at great effort for free, criticism ought to be tempered/constructive. A great "thank you" and way to pay it forward would be for hams who use JS8Call to write a proper manual.

Seems like JS8Call is sending messages while Mike was cut from your internet connection, ha ha. Try VarAC too. It's got some of the same capabilities and it's fast paced. 73 K5MGK Mark
