I continue to be impressed with the 7300. There is really no competition at its price point.

Hi Scott, Nice to hear from you and thanks for commenting. Me too. I continue to discover more and more. It is a fantastic all around radio. I am using it with my AL-811 amp to call a net in the mornings and I constantly get good reports. Thanks again, happy holidays to you and yours, best 73 - Rich, K0PIR

I like your videos. You get to the point quickly and in depth. I save them to my 7300 bookmark folder as reference material. I'm a new owner of a 7300 and really love it but see room for improvements in the software. For example, when I tap SSB why not a popup to choose UBS/LSB instead of making me have to go back to it twice? I don't understand why Icom did this with SSB and having to tap it twice to change modes. Also, why not add DSB? I have other ideas. Does anyone know if Icom accepts suggestions? I mean do they actually read them or do they round file them? Thanks again for the videos!

Suppose that you have the spectrum scope on, and you are in the Centered mode, (CENT/FIX button). If you want to clear somehow the cataract, then you press the REF button and using the main dial, you may alter the level by + or - 20dB. If you decide to change to the Fixed mode, (CENT/FIX button), then the already regulated according to your needs REF, is gone! You must again alter it, to a new position, in order to watch the cataract, as before. Has anyone else spotted that?

Hi, nice to hear from you and thank you for commenting. Yes that’s the way it is on the ICOM 7300 and the ICOM 7610. The REF needs adjusting when switching from Center to Fix and vice versa. Best 73!

interesting video, but, i dont understand what your trying to show ?? no matter what button you press or how you press it, the so called scope display shows a spectrum "DISPLAY" NOT A SCOPE.... as an electronic tech, to me a scope is what a techtronics "scope" show's ..difference being, the spectrum display shows what is happining in a band of frequencys, and the scope is showing what is happening on a single frequency .... when you look at the spectrum scope, as you call it, then press the button as you describe, you see the same band of signals ...so, to me, either way you look at it, your seeing a spectrum display ....

Hi Jimi, Nice to hear from you. Yes, good detail Jimi and I understand what you are saying. I don't go into details as you mention. Just showing different views. Part of this video covers how this Spectrum scope on the 7300 can be changed from Fix to Center and from Mini to Large. Just different views of the Spectrum Scope screen. This pertains to the Icom 7300. On the Icom 7300 and 7610 we have the Spectrum Scope. In the video I just cover the basic parts. The waterfall zone, that is the lower portion and the FFT scope zone, that is the upper portion. Again, pertaining to the Icom 7300. I'm more confused now than before... MORE things to learn, I suppose. What these things are used for, practically? No clue. I'm convinced you can tap buttons faster than a millennial in heat.

Hi Bruce, Nice to hear from you. I agree! It's a learning process and I still have more to learn and discover with these radios. The 7300 will be in my shack for a very long time. Best 73!
