Just purchased the Icom7300 radio and the manual is kind of skimpy on info and explaining. Your youtube comment site is great. I've been referring to it a lot since i only had it a few days. I own a Kenwood TS590sg and the Icom programming is far different and a bit more menu driven. Glad you explain all the menu info and extras that would take me longer to find out how to use. THANKS A BUNCH !!!

Very helpful and the timing couldn't be better, with the DHS warning of a possible national grid failure, etc. And FEMA warning of possible terrorist attacks, severe weather, etc. I have a Generac 16K propane-powered generator so no worries with the electricity being down. I'm a subber of yours and my IC-7300 hasn't seen much use but will now add the ARES/RACES channels to it. Best wishes for 2019. 73, Bob

Before I start the scanning, during no signal or band noise, I turn up the SQL level until the rig stop RX. THis may makes the scanning faster, and stops when the signal is strong enough to break the SQL. Reference: IC-7300 full manual. Page 10-2. Hope this is useful. Yours, Bahathir 9W2GNU, 73.

Hi Mohammad, nice to hear from you and thank you so much for the comment and pointing that out. I understand just what you mean. On my 7610 when I scan AM broadcast, I increased the squelch and it works perfectly. In the video I did not do that with the Icom 7300 Squelch/RF Gain until the noise disappeared. It takes a lot for a station to break in and stop the scan, but it does work fine if set right like you said. Thank you for coming by and commenting. Best 73 - Rich, K0PIR
@bahathir_5 жыл бұрын
@@HamRadioAdventures Agreed. The broadcast AM stations have very 'big' signal compared to band's noise. For SSB or CW, it is more trickier. because, sometimes there are stations with low signel level or just above band's noise. Most of the time, using the waterfall is much easier. Thaank you for the respond.

Thanks for doing this video , there are very few scan videos on the 7300 i had to go into the cd as the basic book does not cover the scan feature .Now my question for you is when i enter the scan function and i want to scan the whole 10 mtr band how do i do this i have tried loads of times to figure this out all to no avail, on page 10-3 of the main manual(cd) at the top of the page it shows a drawing with p1/p2 which is set by default this what i want to change any help would be much appreciated .
@HamRadioAdventures4 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay I was out of area. Thanks for the question and I hope all is well. Put your VFO on the frequency you want to start with, then go to the Memory screen and scroll to the bottom. You will see P1 and P2. Tap the 3-bars (memory menu) to the right of P1. There you can write the frequency to P1. Do the same for P2. I hope this helps. Best 73!

Can this be done in RSBA1 ?
@HamRadioAdventures5 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for commenting and great question. I have not used RS-BA1 much, but from what I see there is no way to write to the radios memory. RS-BA1 saves the memory to a file on the computer. RUMLogNG and RT Sytems are the only two programs I know that will write to the radios memory. Thanks again and best 73 - Rich, K0PIR

My 7300 i just purchased dec30, 2020. Your instructions won't work on my radio. I can enter a frequency through stacking. But when i press memory on screen, nothing happens. The mem button on stacking screens does not work either. Very strange. Has ICOM recently updated its menu's ? I notice other differences in the user manual that do not comply to my radios screen icons. Could i have an outdated user manual? It seems so.
@HamRadioAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Congratulations Jack on the ICOM 7300! The band stacking can be a little tricky, but I do not believe that they changed anything in the manual. It works pretty much the same with all ICOM radios. Have a look at the instructions in the manual and go through it over and over. You will see how it operates. It took me a little while, but the manual health. Take care and good DX!

@@HamRadioAdventures Still having trouble. What you explain is not what is in the manual says. My radio cannot duplicate what you do on video. I can't get to that screen ! When i tap memo, it will not bring me to the screen with MW on it.
@JackSquat542 жыл бұрын
Newsflash: I was in Function(button) SCOPE mode. That changes the look of screen and in that mode, touching the memo on screen will NOT allow you to get to screen with MW (memo write) on it. Problem solved.
