While this is true I believe the reason he may have gotten this injury was not only due to fatigue but due to overuse possibly of a single type of of bench press method. If you always use different variations you are less likely to face an injury. The key to having muscle growth is overcoming the biological law of accommodation. If you continously use a single sort of training stimulus. You will get fatigued. You will get weaker. So the key to musclebgrowth is also getting the science behind weight lifting :)

@gtrrohit5078
@gtrrohit5078 2 жыл бұрын
@@primetate303 That is black and white thinking. you should be doing all rep ranges, from a 1 rep max to above 10 reps to maybe even above 20. Do you think that if you progress to bench a heavier weight your chest would not get bigger? the ability to lift a heavy weight for even one rep means you are guaranteed to have put on size.

I ran into trouble with that before. When I didn’t consistently workout I would sometimes get inspired to do some push-ups. I would hurt my shoulder pretty much every time. When I started working out consistently I started off with “kneeling push-ups” just to strengthen my shoulders because my arm muscles were fine but my joints weren’t ready yet. This can cause frustration with a lot of gym beginners with not being able to do certain exercises.

Man timing of this video is scary. I literally injured my lower back during my warm up sets of RDLs, causing me to have to skip half my workout as my lower back was in sharp pain. The following day I could barely walk, even wiping my ass was incredibly difficult (lol). It wasn't due to poor form or anything, but similar to yourself the warning signs were there for weeks as my lower back was feeling tight. Had to take the remainder of the week off which sucked as I love working out and feel like bum when I don't!

Deload every 8-12 weeks really helps, currently I'm doing 8 week heavy training then 1 week deload and every time I start a new 8 week block I feel much stronger and ready to go again. People should know as well, deload week doesn't mean staying home and not lifting. Go to the gym but cut back your days, 3 days with a push pull leg split is ideal and when at the gym you should only do 2 sets with 3 reps each at your current weight for each exercise. Your progress won't be slowed by anything noticeable but you might just prevent an injury that could set you back months.

This is something i started to feel these past 2/3 days. I play football and I'm not far from going pro. I have started going to the gym which isn't the a problem for me in the sense of discipline. I have been going consistantly to football training 3x every week for i think 9 years now, but i started hitting the gym in february (seriously im talking about almost no days off with football training and test matches). So we are now in april i have made some decent gains, but I'm starting to feel like hamza is mentioning. I feel tired (no joint pain) I'm also considering just maybe 2-3 days off.

Wish I heard this 6 months ago. Pulled a muscle in my quad connected to my hip and just kept playing football through it. Played on it for 2 months, the seasons ended, and I took a week break to "recover". After a week, nothing had changed but I decided to try out for my school's track team. Immediately, things didn't feel right and I could barely lift uo my knee. Another injury took me out for a month but I decided to keep resting to heal my hip. I had gotten an extreme overuse injury, and still recovering. After finally dropping my ego and going to a physical therapist, things have been looking better. Just taking it day by day and have made some progress. Now, I've learned many, many things about longevity and not overtraining to prevent something like this ever again and hopefully help other people in the future

Every time I get injured I take it in a positive way. For example when I first started the gym I got shoulder impingement from lacking muscle groups and other aspects, but now that will never happen again as I understand the causes and have taken every step to prevent it in the future. Head up kings if you are injured, learn from what you did wrong and stay positive, there's always light at the end of the tunnel.

I had something similar happen to me a few years ago when I was doing 5x5. I loved seeing the weight go up every week, but eventually got to a point where I had to be honest with myself that my form was suffering and that if I continued I'd start to hurt myself. My recoveries were already suffering, and so it was my cue to change things up. Since then I've changed workout routines a few times, but that lesson has stuck with me. Yes, looking good is nice, but it should be aligned with actual health.

before anybody gets confirmation bias, the menssage is: do the hard work, specially when you dont "feel" like it(as in motivation, inspiration or something as you as a person) but you should not go when you body feels like not going aka weakness or illness. Thoes 2 are way different, one is weakness of the mind the other actual weakness of the body that do not lets you go

Yep. Got left back in my progress. Such a idiot but I learned and now I am grateful for my mistakes, so I take my time and think straight in working out and I’ve never been as thankful as I am now. Wasn’t really showing off to anyone, just way too much excitement Just remember to calm down and THINK about your form before. We are only flesh and bones. But yeah, never giving up working out. Focus on mind-muscle connection and really watch your muscle contract rather than focusing on pushing that weight up. Everyone says they shouldn't ego lift, but you can't help sometimes want to lift more infront of others. It's actually good sometimes bc it pushes you harder, but its not sustainable 🏋🏋🏋

Recovering from that over the last 4 years after not being able to fix it until 2018/2019. Turns out its all mental. Broke my hip last year, I am super grateful to be back in the gym 5 days a week - and I stretch for 90 minutes twice a week there. And I'm happy with that. Seeing people ego lifting makes me feel sad, knowing that they might fuck up their bodies for years.

Injuries are often a blessing in disguise. It’s a chance to learn quite a lot about your own body. I am a long distance runner, lift weights and also do Muay Thai. Something is bound to go wrong here and there, but if you adopt the mindset of taking some rest and assessing ‘okay, I am not strong or flexible enough somewhere in my body. Or my technique is off. Let’s fix it’ you’ll come out a different beast. Great video, good that you shed some light on this!

when ur strength goes down, you MUST deload for a week or so. you should also peak for 1 rep maxes and get used to heavy weight, even if you can theoretically lift that weight. Say if you can do 85kg for 5 reps with comfort, you can theoretically hit 100kg for 1 but you should do triples and doubles for a couple weeks beforehand. You need to mentally prepare and prepare your central nervous system.

I've felt this bigorexia thing In q wierd way, I was constantly going higher and higher with my max even though I felt the fatigue, my form got worse and worse, this eventually led to me having hemmoroids because I was not breathing during squats and dead lifts, so now it's a month I didn't go to gym. Felt so shut and unconfident in my self. So to make up for it I started studying like dumbass Like 15 hours anatomy This got me first in class but yet again started ignoring my mental fatigue, over doing it and now I feel exhausted. Sacrificing my longevity. It took me 2 times to realize the lesson you bring up in this video. I've decided to re apply deep work and today I'm going back to the gym and I'm going start slow and steady and increase in a way my body can handle and study moderately but the word would be powerfully lol. Allah bless you hamza. Good stuff

I love how wholesome the community on Hamza videos are. It's just a hive of positivity and I feel great looking through these comments; hearing about people's progress and how so many here prop each other up. It really is beautiful. Stay strong! Level up your willpower! Progress! We are making society better step by step by improving ourselves because society is made up of individuals making their own choices. Love you guys 💪✊

Your videos always come on point man. I got tendonitis from forcing myself too hard to the past 3 months. And I was feeling down cuz I'll be losing time and progress from not being able to go to the gym. You video made me understand that there's no rush. Thanks

I don’t know if this is a coincidence or what. But this video is exactly what I needed. I hurt my rear delt or rotated cuff yesterday trying to do a pull ups variation to impress my friends. Now I’ve hurt my shoulders. Just shows that you really need to have humility when doing stuff like that. No point in trying to impress people if it is going to hinder you’re growth. Although it’s a failure and it’s going to take time. It’s a learning curve. Be humble

I had brain surgery 4 years ago, and had to wait 8 months before I could train again. When I push my self really hard I get sharp pains where my surgery was. I took last week off and it sucked but I'm coming back tomorrow to crush my goals safely.

Same happened to me. But what happened was I always kept increasing the weight by a tiny little bit with only 1-2 rest days a week and eventually I got really sick (was overtraining, I had that multiple times) , and now after more than a month I'm only back to my old weights. Threw me off a lot. Now I'm only ever going 2 day in a row with a rest day with a rest day after that and I fucking feel better than ever and I progress way better. More is not always better guys, 4-5 times a week is really all you need. Of course also depends on the split. Doing PPL and even decided to take out 1 Exercise from each day because I was feeling very tired after each workout. Feel like now I've optimized my plan. You still learn so much I realized recently even though I've been on the fitness journey since I was 15 (23 now) Take your time to recover Hamza and don't let your ego convince you that you NEED to go train of you've felt fatigued the last days. A restday more is way more efficient than taking a week or more off because of injury.

David Goggins also emphasizes the importance of stretching in his book. A lot of injuries are caused by lack of stretching. It's highly undervalued. That's something everyone with similar experience should take into consideration.

For real this is so apparent in gyms, it's like bruhh it helps nobody. & it's important to strengthen the bottom of the spine a lot maybe even more so in the beginning

Good Video as always! I just want to add something to the topic about pressure on man to get fast stronger! 3 months ago I always had the mindset that when I get ill I‘ll loose all my gains and my friend s will get better than me and I put so much pressure on myself that it really made me feel depressed! But luckily since 2 months now I was able to change that mindset! I told myself that I will reach some goals in this powerbuilding sport in my life and that I‘m not a professional with other competitiors so now I‘ma able to really enjoy going to the gym and also enjoy time outside the gym! And I think that‘s what this lifestyle is about. Enjoying your life and fulfill your goals and get better under a good amount of pressure!

I went to the gym for the first time on Wednesday and strained or tore my bicep tendant or something, hurts so bad haha but I'm motivated to go more and keep up my meditation and lifelong dopamine detox.
