Woah! I thought only the laser cut ones could be that detailed! This thrills me! I have a hot knife/wood burner & want to make a clock for my husband's birthday, but I'm not great at drawing and the only obviously hand cut ones I could find were batman bat and the silhouette of the girl with wild hair. Neither would have gotten the "WOW!" response I'm hoping for! Of course I dont expect to be able to do it like you are without a lot of experience, but at least I know I can find some middle ground between bats/girls & the recreation of the last supper on vinyl...LOL Thanks! Yours look fantastic and I would've guessed they were cut by laser or a CNC if I hadnt just watched you do it!

Gracias Mateo! La herramienta que aparece en el vídeo es un pirograbador para madera. Si consigues uno que tenga graduación de calor sería mucho mejor. Una cuchilla muy caliente derrite mucho el vinilo, no muy caliente es necesario pasarlo un par de veces y el corte no queda tan limpio. Es cuestión de prueba.

Beautiful clock, love the carvings. Really struggling to find right size clock mechanism. Could you recommend a good website please? So far I have ordered 3 different sets from Amazon and each one either the hands swung around after fitting, the central prong was too short or the hands were too short.

How do you get the cuts to pop out so easy at the end?

JP L If the knife isn't very hot it's going to be easy to remove the pieces but it takes longer to cut the record. If the knife is very hot it cuts the record very easily like butter but the pieces stick together again. It also depends on the thickness of the record and the brand. Best of luck 🍀

It isnt a smooth cut for me, its really melty and this leaves crooked melted edges

JP L The colder the knife the better the result. I guess you use a very very hot knife therefore it melts very easily.

Hola Fernanda! Los ejes de los mecanismos que uso tienen un grosor o anchura de 8mm, el agujero del disco es de 7mm. Lo que hago es introducir el eje en el agujero y lo enrosco, normalmente hay que hacer un poco de fuerza al empujar y enroscar el eje, luego coloco la arandela y la tuerca para que queden sujetos mejor. Espero con esto te haya ayudado, por cualquier cosa no dudes en preguntar. Saludos cordiales.

Exactly what I thought. I was dismayed to see that the record appears to be in good condition at the start of the video. If someone really wants to do this, they could at least use records which were already damaged.
