Hand crank a Citroën DS19 with a dead battery?

Hand starting a Citroën DS19 cold with a (nearly) dead battery. My new website has custom made length hydraulic lines for many models of Citroen thevintageline...

Great solution, it’s a pity that we can’t have it on our cars anymore! Nevertheless be careful, you should never push (by hand or by foot) the crank, always pull, in case of backfire, you could be badly injured !

Nice video, and nice engine restoration. One thing I must point out, is that with the front wheels pointing straight ahead, the steering wheel spoke should be around 7:30 and not at 6 o'clock.

I own a '64 one!! But the engine block is cracked.... I'll have to find a restorable "M" engine someday...

That is to bad. Early long stroke engine parts are harder to find ( as I found out restoring this 1964). Maybe swap in all the front mechanical parts from a later car.

@@Porsche9elfer I've thought about that.... I sometimes see "cheap" working later cars in the south of France or north of Catalonia which is nearer to me, maybe that's what I'll end doing. I'm restoring another car right now and thought about getting rid of the Citroen but... At the end I always think I'll be able to fix it someday, even in need of a crazy amount of work, I love it. Have you kept the LDS system??

I love mine too, and it needed tons of work when I bought it. I changed the hydraulics to the LHM green fluid system because I intend to own the car a long time and it all needed to be rebuilt anyway. Are you in France or Spain?@@riejurv50
