Hey Chris - consider a reducer pvc fitting with a section of pvc or clear tubing to get into the narrower cracks and crevices. PVC can be flattened and formed with a bit of heat. Nice gold!

Noticed the Daiwa hat. I spend a lot of time fishing in creeks but I have never done any prospecting. I think it might make sense to fish early and late in the day, when the fishing is best and prospect from mid-morning until late afternoon. Sound reasonable?

I found a place that has all of the things you show as good like quartz, bedrock, and that concrete like stuff with quartz and river rock in it and I still can't find gold in it. I might be doing something wrong. Would like to go back take some photos and send a sample of the gravel, chunk of that concrete stuff and of my reduced efforts.
