Ha ha ha your hands on the spindle kinda sounds like music. Don't know what it is but I can't get enough of videos of fire and water boiling. Good video

Hand drill fire tea and chocolate it doesn’t get any better than that. Great job on the hand drill fire looked like pretty tough conditions for a hand drill.

hey :) yeah it was really damp, the tinder was the driest part of the kit, and i did work with that tinder for 8 mins, lol

You defiantly earned that warm fire and hot tea. ;)

Great job on getting that coal to fire up Fredde. I think a lot of people just give up with an ember before they need to. You are very skilled and have enough experience that you know what it is going to take to produce a fire with the hand drill. Thanks for showing us your experience out there.Take care my friend. It is always nice to be out in the woods enjoying the fresh air.

Impressed as always with your ability to get a fire from substandard materials. I am good with the bow drill, but rarely get an ember out of a hand drill set. Always enjoy watching you get hand drill embers!

Great to see you out lighting fires again Fredde. Your birch bark sheath video always inspired me. I've started a few videos now too. Hoping to do a kuksa carving one soon. All the best, Paul.

Amazing that you can get a hand drill fire going out there in the snow. Wow, Nice job! Good Milk chocolate and black coffee goes so well together. I love how the flavors meet and mix in my mouth. Yum! Thanks for sharing another video Fredde! :-)

Fredde I love your videos you post! You're the real deal! I was wondering if you could do a video on how you sharpen your tools and how often? Your knives and axe are always razor shape in all your videos and I was curious what sharpening method you use, so I can take note and copy you haha. Thanks for the videos

That was a great save! You're still the king of the Swedish outdoors, my friend! Did you use a plant stalk for your spindle or was that from a tree?
@hobbexp8 жыл бұрын
wood on wood is to hard, i try to only use plant stalks now, what do you say about to start up the FFT again, i did post this video on a Tuesday,
@IHatchetJack8 жыл бұрын
I still practice regularly but I'm trying to practice every day through the week. I have a board and spindle that I'm just using to make smoke, no notches or embers, to keep my form good. FFT is always alive if you want it to be!

I have been trying mugwort on willow, but so far only blisters and a bit of black dust. I have some mullein I gathered last year...it's high time to start practicing again...
@hobbexp7 жыл бұрын
yeah use the mullein, the best mullein is that one who die last year, it did take me 6-7 years, to figure that out,

Hi, Fredde. I was always tought, that you cant make bow drill with spruce or pine becouse of the resin. You always seem to make fire with coniferous wood. Do you look for pine or spruce with less resin?
@hobbexp8 жыл бұрын
you often only find resin in branches and roots, but its like 126 different pine species around the worlds, and i dont know what type of pine you have, try to avoid coniferous, many other woods will give you a ember easier, before you use any wood, use your eyes ! look at it, inspect the wood,

Its good to see you making a video Fredde. You ought to consider making them more frequently. Theres a new bunch of young bushcrafters that are out there and they may not be so apt to watch older vids. You've got a lot of skill to teach my friend. Do you still take your cat out bushcrafting with you?

Tjena fredde! använder du alltid tall till både borr och bräda när du gör eld? det ser så enkelt ut när du får upp eld. vore tacksam för tips. Ha det!
@hobbexp7 жыл бұрын
videon börjar med att jag säger att jag går bakom ladan för att hitta en hand drill spindle, det är inga tallar bakom ladan, jag använder sällan tall, men det fanns bara tall träd där jag var, "borren" är gjord från en växt inte ett träd,
@hobbexp7 жыл бұрын
ett tips sa du,,, börja inte med hand drill, börja med båg drill, och teknik före styrka,
