It is interesting to see how much hand gestures can really add to a speech, especially because nonverbal signals can play a huge part in our communication. I will definitely try to keep these tips in mind for future speeches or just in general when communicating.

Leaning about two convesations happening changed my perspective of approaching a speech. I belive i downplayed my speech deliverance wiht lack of gestures but learning if my spoken mesagge and body language are more aligned the audience will lean more into the speech.

I always love your videos Riaz, my dad told me once that my hand gestures are distracting and I shouldn't move them around so much.... :( Is he correct?
@RiazMeghji4 жыл бұрын
Mallory! So good to see you here. Well if your dad is mentioning it, your audience is telling you something is off. You have a sample size of one with this opinion. I'd ask around and see what your close friends have to say about it. Working in TV I learned to love criticism. Hard at first, but can serve us well long-term.
@TertiaRieglerEmbodiment4 жыл бұрын
I believe we all pick up on the unsaid energy which comes through our body language. It conveys a lot more than our words. Lol, I’ve invaded my audience’s space accidentally before by using big gestures and being too close to the camera
@RiazMeghji4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tertia. It’s so easy to invade the space virtually! Many of us have done it and don’t even realize it. We just need to do your meditation at the end of each day to keep our sanity :)
