Regenerative Medicine and Chronic Pain Physician, Dr. Drew Timmermans ND, explains the components of a bodyworker’s hand injury and his subsequent treatment approach to help with pain and function. Through regenerative injections, Dr. Timmermans’ helps pain by facilitating the patient’s natural healing response providing a nutritive fluid (platelet rich plasma - “PRP” - in this case) to create space between tissue layers and trigger the body’s healing. Starting with in a complete approach to discover the root causes of a patient’s challenges that include a complete health history, thorough orthopedic/ neuromuscular/ musculoskeletal exams to elicit what structures are creating pain, blood work and testing, and sometimes imaging. Regenerative Performance provides treatment for all aspects of a patient’s life in addition to providing state of the art, scientifically based, and image guided, regenerative medicine.

Hey Drew, I am having some joint pain, especially in my hands. I'm still working on diagnosing it. However I just took my first dose of PPS and am hoping that helps and I am looking at doing either prp or prolozone injections. Not sure if you have much experience in prolozone but I am cautious to get injections in my hands considering I don't want the doctor knicking the joint with the needle and making what I believe to be OA worse. I heard prolozone doesn't have to be injected fully into the joint. potentially reducing the risk of hurting the cartilage. What are your thoughts on this?
