Hi Li & Joel - Greetings to you both & thanks for more wonderful professional content from the Vietnam trip. I've had seafood picked from the tank in HK but that was in the past ... too concerned with pollution these days. Hopefully the sea near Vietnam is cleaner than the South China Sea. Blessings to you from USA - we are in the 1st week of Lent & I've given up wine this year. Peace be with you & your Family!

You might get it wrong. White rice is a staple for any Vietnamese but just at home. You just eat outside, so you don't see much of Vietnamese eating rice. We don't really eat rice when we go out to restaurant, because we want to treat ourselves occasionally we don't want to eat the regular. There is only some "cơm bình dân" places or cơm tấm that will sell rice out of home.
@JoelsTastyRide Жыл бұрын
Hi Andre!! So I get it that you eat rice at home, that’s very cool :-) so do we! I couldn’t help but notice that aside from Com Tam, rice noodles were far more prevalent in all 3 areas that we visited (for good reason, of course I think Vietnam’s love for noodles makes the noodle experience there simply unbeatable ❤️). But ok, thank you for the message and I’m sure that by staying longer, I would learn how to more quickly find some rice each day :):)
@JoelsTastyRide Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the reminder also that early in the morning is the best time to find rice!! I usually ride my bike in the morning, and only start looking for food at 11-12

@@JoelsTastyRide for Rice dishes, I can suggest some names so you can look for the restaurants in Vietnam as I am not in vietnam but I am vietnamese. The below are dishes you eat with Rice or Banh mi. Just like Thai rice dishes, it's just normal dishes but you serve with rice like Pad Krakow Gai. To vietnamese these dishes are too simple so they think its not worthy of restaurants but to me these dishes are restaurant quality and a lot more people should know about them. 1. Ca Ri De 2. Canh oc 3. Canh dua chua 4. Thit Kho Tau 5. Ca Kho To 6. Bo Kho 7. Ca ri ga 8. Vit nau chao 9. Canh chua Ca 10. Ga Kho Gung 11. Banh duc 12. Bo luc lac 13. Ga ra gu 14. Com Ga Hoi an 15. Com chay from ninh binh 16. Com dua from Ben tre 17. Lam rice 18. Hell rice from Hue 19. Ni. Rice 20. Com cua from Phu quoc 21. Ca hap gung 22. Dau hu xao ca chua 23. Bo/de/heo/vit quay The list will go on forever but I'll stop here and its not even scratching the surface. Xoi dau phong and many many sticky rice dishes that can't name them all. Maybe some commenters can add to my list.

@JoelsTastyRide Жыл бұрын
Hi Binh! Yes it was a long trip, but this is also how KZbin works. Almost no video you ever watch, from any uploader, is going to be under 48 hours from the time it was filmed (I would say on average its probably 2-3 weeks, or more if the person is very hard-working and plans their trips very well!). Looking at it another way though, THAT's how good the trip to Vietnam was, we have SO many videos from so many good restaurants that its taken 10 weeks for me to edit them all
