While I love your results I too am confused by this demonstration. Most of us would not be transferring anything onto paper when we could just print it out. What we really need is demonstrations for this method onto less obvious items...wood, CANVAS, glass, tile, etc

Hi Normally you can only do transfers with a laser printer, but by using this method you now can transfer pics with an inkjet as well!
@indiandy036 жыл бұрын
Fantastic, really love the effect. It was asked why transfer a image onto paper when you could just print directly onto the paper. For me I think it produces an effect your would not get if you just printed onto the paper. It has the feel and look of a lithograph plus you can print with an A4 printer and transfer the image onto a larger sheet giving the image a nice mount. The quality you achieve is some of the very best I have seen.

Because th inks stays on the surface during a transfer and is richer in color.

Dmitri Bovski because you can’t run any type of paper through inkjet. It has to be inkjet coated paper. This allows you to put an image on any type of paper.

Hi Bonnie. I just happened upon your channel, I'm amazed at your great results. By the way, could this process be done using the shiny side of the backing paper left over after printing shipping labels ? It probably works with laser printers, but what about inkjet printers ?

It is only done with the DASS ART TransferFilm that has a special coating that hold the inkjet print and thy release on the SuperSauce or WonderSauce.

Bonny, thank you for the "transfer" of techniques. I am a Spanish artist in the last part of my oeuvre, I am 79. I paint, have an etching studio, use photography plus digital transformation, prepare my new work in Procreate before creating the real work to what ever medium. My question for you, (because I have a collage that I would like to transfer on to arches to images to include in the collage. 1) is there an art material supplier that carries your family of transfer products? 2) Have started a project to purchase an archival type glicée printer. Will archival inks of Epson, Canon, or HP be ok on your transfer film? 3) If there is no distributor for your products' family in Spain is there one in Europe and/or UK? If not will you ship to me in Spain? Thank you in advance for the time you impart to my inquiries Regards emile michel

What printer did you use for these prints? I've tried printing onto the transfer film with a Canon Pixma, but the resulting transparencies don't have the same depth of black.
@bonnylhotka3 жыл бұрын
You need to use a printer with pigment inks and photo black inks. Dye inks will not work.

If you soak the paper in water for about 15 minutes, then wipe off excess water, you probably wouldn’t need to use so much Purell gel.

I have tried this 2x now and each time the transfer pulls up paper with it or is not transferring evenly (random sections in the middle don't transfer.) I am using the DASS film and Arches 88 paper, and following the instructions faithfully. I use an Epson XP6000 with 302 Inkjet ink. I coat the paper on both sides and then back to the front again. I leave the image on first 1 minute, then 3. The photo has first dried after printing on the film over several days before I begin. Any thoughts? I use the brayer...I can attach a photo if you like.

For collages, so you dont damage the original..... maybe you want to distress it or put paint on it so you can choose a more workable surface!
@chuckdunn3026 жыл бұрын
You can transfer to other surface like wood metal or glass. Arches 88 I think is about a 300gpi paper it may not travel well thur your printer. The biggest reason is aesthetics. This method may seam natural for you just like some people paint on a hard surface vs a canvas.
