11:00 How do you think about an edge? 14:42 What can discretionary traders adapt from systematic/ quantitative traders? 19:22 How can a discretionary trader do this sort of thing, do they ask questions the go to the data for the answers? 24:08 For someone who is fairly new to this method of approaching things, what are some of the questions to ask? 37:13 When you are asking these questions, what are the answers that you are expecting/ what does those answers look like? 44:57 Does the edge really lie within the trader? 48:43 What can quantitative traders/ systematic traders adapt from discretionary traders? 52:10 How do you factor in human behavior into quantitative analysis? 54:50 Earlier you commented that if you applied discretion to quantitative research, it can throw off the accuracy of that research. How do you deal with that?

Great interview. Interestingly, it took me about 4.5 years to learn trading, and stop the consistent bleed.

This was a fantastic interview. I liked Adam's commonsense and applicable answers about finding one's "trading edge". Is there a link to the meditation guide Adam spoke about?

For traders who can listen and absorb the wealth of cautionary information available today from sources like Chat with Trades and other reputable sources, You can profit in your first 5 years. We have something today traders years ahead of us did not have. If you are willing to accept you don't know anything and listen then you can avoid the 5 year loss mentioned here. 5 years of loss isn't at all needed for market tuition. There is too much affordable education out there these days to fail for 5 years. Invest in yourself (education) and pay much less market tuition to implement your trading plan. A good education can help you avoid many of the account blow up pit falls out there.

Hello Adam & Aaron, My 2 questions are: 1. Why do some individual successful traders (who trade their own account) recruit other talented traders later on in their career? (As if they are aiming to build a hedge fund) 2. At what size of a market order would a trader (who uses MT4) have to have to make 'getting filled' a problem? When would they need to make a phone call to a bank (or institution, correct me if I'm wrong) to get an order filled instead of just pressing a button on their Mt4 platform? (For eg. Is a 500 Lot order on the EUR/CHF too big to just press a button on your screen? And should one consider infustructure to be set up as if they were an institution? How can this be done?) Note: Please mention the reality of brokers betting on the other side of retail traders' bets and how big of an account would a retail trader have to have for a broker to take their clients' sizeable orders to the actual market? Thank you, Chris (Australia)

On point 2, Most brokers and in turn LPs have max order limits in terms of order size and/or number of orders. These limits are clearly mentioned in broker documentation. Ask your broker for further info.
