Hope all is well with you! This is a wonderful idea! I stopped using resin around Dec. because it was too cold in my place, but I was also having micro bubble issues too. Once all the bubbles have surfaced, you could take a straw and blow out the bubbles. Using a lighter, sometimes will "flash cure" the resin, locking any extra bubbles in, especially if it's been sitting for awhile. I was using ClearCast 7000 resin and I'm sure it was temperature/humidity related because it worked well in Nov. Glad you're back! {hugs}

In case you or anyone else was wondering if this works on other materials... I tried this on home made gelatin mold material (similar to ComposiMold) and it worked pretty much the same as shown here, with the resin. Unfortunately, nothing I tried got rid of those last few extremely tiny/foamy bubbles on the top surface, but... Good enough, for me!

that a awesome idea, but I did notice a little shaking with the chamber, maybe if you glue it on a flat wooden board and screw it to an old wooden table, that might work from shaking

Maybe.

You could use am electric food sealer system (Food Saver) that comes with containers and tubing that vacuums. This would be faster and save your arm/hand strength.

Have you tried using your vaccum hose to remove the air like you would with clothing storage bags? If you could get a good enough connection onto the container, it would be less labor intensive than using the pump. If the suction is too great, maybe use a deeper container. It would be an interesting experiment.

but how come your resin takes more than 10 mins to start curing??
@brandontezeno_6 жыл бұрын
Im late but they got fast curing and slow curing resins. Just whenever you are buying resins look at the working time listed .

Watched several of your videos and you are turning me away by your complaining about it not working for you but does for others but you were only doing half of the directions because you felt certain directions or supplies weren't needed.

Technically this is a pressure chamber not a vacuum chamber- because you're forcing air into the tub instead of extracting it
@tsummerlee8 жыл бұрын
absence of air is a vacuum, no? It pumps air out of the jar, leaving a vacuum.
@MrKylesauraus8 жыл бұрын
by the looks of things your pumping air in are you not?

It does look like a bicycle pump, but wouldn't pumping air _in_ be pretty useless for food storage?
@LaserGadgets6 жыл бұрын
Read a book Kyle :p how would it look if it was pumping OUT? Moving it up then down instead of down then up? xD dude.
