yes I sold about 6 bags this year ... my Gucci Soho medium shoulder bag (I purchased the Givenchy soft Antigona based on your review & love it), the YSL toy loulou (returned the black and purchased a mink color instead), YSL lou camera bag (switched out for the mini lou), Chloe mini marcie as well as 2 Valentino glam lock bags (wasn't reaching for them anymore)

I loved the idea of the Pochette Metis, I also had it in monogram and leather. Sold them because drove me crazy with all the compartments and not being able to fit my stuff easily… too much thinking where to put what, I don’t have time for that.

Hi Steph I like your comment that you learn about yourself with some bags. So many cute ones but so few that are really useable for your particular lifestyle. I totally love the tiny bags but I’m realizing they just don’t work for me and the large totes just get too heavy! Always looking for just the perfect size bag! It’s a quest ! I just bought a small Ophedia Gucci cross body tote and it’s working great so far.

The addiction to handbags is real, I totally get why those didn't work. I have a few that I'm just not using enough but they don't cost thousands. My Kate spade tote I never use, I was attracted to it because it was pretty but it's way too big. I found it at a consignment shop so it was only 50 bucks.

I sold my Pochette metis for same reasons! the s lock drove me crazy and I realized I like bags with one big roomy compartment vs multiple dividers that only make the bag heavier and limit what you can fit inside.

My pre-loved small Gucci Boston bag was my most recent return. Loved the silver canvas, but the handles were an odd shape and the size did not work for me. Would definitely buy another silver canvas piece if I found the perfect style 😍 fab video and thank you for talking us through the returns / sales ☺️

Yes it’s so important to be sure you really love the bag you have invested in. I’ve just returned my LV Spring in the City Neverfull in Sunrise for a refund. It’s pretty and definitely the colours I gravitate towards. I lusted after it as a result and when it become reavailable on the LV website I quickly ordered it. I opened the box and was so disappointed as for me it looks all wrong in this print in this shape. I think it works better in the smaller bags such as the Marshmallow which I’ve not been able to get. I love the colours but when it’s costing what it does I just know I won’t use it so it’s been returned. Gutted as I really wanted to love and use it. 😞

I actually recently returned a mini Lady Dior in matte black! It looks so cute but I underestimated how small it is (at least for my everyday needs) and how heavy the chain is, so I’ll be getting a Small ABCDior instead :)

Great video! Hate shoulder bags. I am a crossbody or tophandle so no matter what I won’t buy one. I did a major clear out and have been adding new things:-) picked up a gorgeous lady dior in lambskin in fuchsia! By the way love your hair - you did a slight cut and the blunt edge looks amazing!

Sad to hear you letting go of the pochette metis! I absolutely adore mine and use it quite a lot, dressed up and for casual wear. I don't have too many luxury crossbodies, this was actually my first! So I am attached to it lol and use it every chance I get ^.^

Just last week i had to take in my Neonoe, that I’ve had less than a year, for repair because the glazing was coming off already. When i got there they told me they would suggest an exchange instead because it’s apparently a known issue and they can’t guarantee it won’t happen again. I was so disappointed. I loved that bag. The sales person sent to help me with the bag was not very helpful. I told them what i was looking for based on the size of the Neonoe and they just kind of went a “mmmm, yeah” but i was on my own. I hadn’t been lusting after a bag so i really was not sure what i wanted. I ended up with the Odeon Tote PM. In store i loved it, got home and all excitement was gone. Thinking of going back and exchanging after now having looked over the website but i don’t know if i can as they made it seem like whatever i chose was it.

Hi Steph I recently sold my Louis Vuitton Iena MM Damier Azure bag with a pink ballerine interior. I coveted it and wanted it so long but it caused me no end of worry due to the light colors and amount of Vachetta leather on it. I just couldn’t enjoy it so off she went. She was only pretty to look at I didn’t feel comfortable using.

Did you lose money on most of these bags, broke even, or made a profit? I have a number of luxury bags, a few of which I’d like to sell. I’ve only sold off one of my bags thus far (an LV felicie pochette that was never used) and I actually made a couple hundred dollar profit simply from the price increases but some other bags may be a little more difficult to sell without it being at a loss.

Ah yes interesting one the 19 isn't for everyone. I would hold on to it for a few more months as there's another price increase meant to be happening - I don't know if or how much it will affect the 19 bag by, but means you might get a little more $ back. If I really wanted something else ASAP then I would sell and take the hit, but if you can sit and wait on it, then price increases are useful

Oh my gosh. I have been DYING to talk with someone about this. I just returned my first LV handbag. I got the Grand Palais because it is beautiful and large enough for me to use on a daily basis. It was a real Pain in the backside to zip closed when wearing it and having it loaded with wallet, eyeglass case + sunglass case and a small cosmetic case. The small handles constantly got in the way. If you tuck them away, you loose all of that space in the bag and it's impossible to zip closed without fighting with it. I returned it yesterday. I am...crushed.... I really REALLY wanted a LV bag. The replacement bag is going to be $2-4k MORE than the Grand Palais .... I feel rotten... For me, $4k is already a lot for a handbag but apparently that is on the low end? I mean, please tell me...does everyone else just not blink at $5k-$10k handbags? This is a new thing for me and I understand that this is 'luxury' but.... do I need to set my expectations and just save up another few months? Who else out there carries around a $5k+ handbag? Real talk. Help me out. I have been depressed about this for the past week.

@Dire Will I only got into luxury about two years ago. At first it can be exciting, but I quickly found out that it's best to really think about a bag before purchase or you'll end up returning/selling quite a bit of them. And yeah, I've gotten bags that I didn't realize until purchase that the zipper was annoying or the interior layout was weird, so don't feel bad at all. Some people will drop more than 10k on a bag, and some are more comfortable at 2k, it's whatever your budget is. If you really like something, it's worth saving up for in my opinion. Sometimes I've bought less expensive bags because the one I really wanted seemed out of reach, but I wasn't really happy with the "budget" one. One thing you could look into as well is the pre loved market. Places like Fashionphile, and Rebag authenticate luxury goods and they have all sorts of price points. Plus they do have allow returns if you find it's not going to work for you, just make sure you leave the tag on. I have bought from them multiple times as well as buying new from LV/Saint Laurent/Gucci/Dior etc.

I am thinking that I may try the pre-loved but I have been very nervous because of all the horror stories about people buying from there, being assured it's authentic and then the people find out it's not and can't return the item. I tried to reach out to Fashionphile but their 'contact us' doesn't work so I wasn't sure if they were legit or not.

@@dianawilson13 I believe Fashionphile has a 30 day return policy so if you have questions you can always,within that time frame, take it to the designer boutique and see if they will authenticate it for you so you're 100 percent sure. Not all designers though authenticate anymore but you can talk to them and see. Rebag gives you I think 14 days. I'll say this though, I've bought multiple pre loved bags and sold them to other companies that authenticate and never had a problem. I guess there's always a risk that a super fake makes it through their authentication but I've felt very comfortable buying pre loved, atleast from those two companies. I've bought from the realreal also but they don't take returns for their bags so I stick to jewelry and clothing with them which is returnable. Steph has shown a few bags on her channel that she got pre loved. Not sure if from fashionphile or Farfetch but other you tube luxury channels like A heated mess has talked positively about fashionphile

You must also watch as many of these utube video and reviews before buying so as to know the pros and cons of all the bags

@Lady Brat Face Fashionphile is legit. I’ve bought from them and many people on you tube have as well. That being said, please authenticate any thing you buy from a third party. Steph has a few authenticating companies that she trusts on her blog. Also stores/ boutiques do not authenticate pieces that one buys from a third party. Firstly that is not their job, but also, the salespeople are not experts on every detail of all that they sell. Some who have been doing it for a long time may know the items well, but others don’t, especially if they are vintage items. Authentication companies are well versed in this though. And did you say that you returned the grand Palais and needed to pay an additional $2-4 k for another canvas bag? Or a large leather one? I don’t think that most bags (except Chanel, Hermes, some Dior and LV’s all leather bags are in the $5-10 K range). There are so many out there that are in the $2-3.5K that are fabulous. Keep looking, and dont forget to look preloved.
