Congrats on not only winning, but filming this entertaining game! Last time you played Rookie, I felt like he was just phoning it in. But this time, you brought wayy more out of him. When he insults you at the beginning of the game, that's how you know he means business.

What's up with the "prime Rook would" comments? Does he have a time machine to go back and play prime Rook? He can only play the Rook that's in front of him. Beating any Rook is something to feel good about. Prime Rook was almost zipping the runner ups too.

What i dont understand is why people talking shit about player who is pass his 50s. Like tf yall expect for rookie to be at the same level when he was on his 20s. Is called getting old. At least old man rookie still kicking ass when many people his age already left the courts
@rosspign
@rosspign Ай бұрын
All I've seen so far are positive comments about rookie. If anything, the shit talk is directed towards me for playing this game. A lot of people don't see that this video has brought back to life both the entertaining side and remaining abilities that made Rookie a great player during his time, while still being able to keep up now. So few videos of Rookie are out these days for obvious reasons, but the comments clearly show that he has solidified his name into the hall of fame.
@hoesayz

Anytime Rookie appears in a video, fanboys will always comment "Prime Rookie would've..." We know who Rookie was back then. We're in the present now folks, stick to that. Nice playing though

That's because we actually saw this man in person monopolize the sport for 2+ decades. You younger players will never know what it's like to walk into a tment, see Rookie, then watch everyone in the park wonder who's gonna be in 2nd place cause it was a forgone conclusion Rook was gonna be in 1st. He was THAT far ahead of the rest of the field l about 20+ years.

@Zay1hunnitt-p7n the trick to beating all guys like that is don't try to read the serve. just be ready to react and make a strong defensive return that he won't be able to put away on the next shot. Then when he tries to put away the next shot and leaves one hanging be sure to put it away. rinse wash repeat and before you know it you have a nice win under your belt

Ross, next time, just one idea, save yourself your own time and don't edit these videos. I want to count the number of minutes verbal words are exchanged and used so that the game is delayed so that players have more time to rest in between points.
@rosspign

The full video was a little over 26 minutes. I like cutting out the unimportant parts for the people with short attention spans so they don't have to skip through. I just thought to leave in the conversations that were relevant to calls.

Rook was always vulnerable to those low angle serves. Buddy beat a prime Rookie while he was in his 50's I believe at the final of a tournament at 106th street park. However, this kid doesn't have the arsenals like Buddy.

He’s beaten many B players in tournaments. He’d wreck you and leave your head spinning 10 out of 10 games. Ok serve lol. He literally has one of the current best singles serves period. I’d say top two. I think Tristan’s serve is a bit better since he does it from the middle of the court, but it’s close regardless.
