Handbrake Adjustment - Volkswagen Polo Mk4

How to adjust the handbrake (parking brake) on a 2002 to 2009 VW Polo Mk4 9N (with rear drum brakes). This adjustment is just for the handbrake lever as the cables can stretch over time. However, if your handbrake rises too high, don’t assume that the issue is caused by stretched cables. There could be other issues causing the excessive lever travel, such as a broken anchor point or, more likely, there is a problem with the brake shoe self-adjusting mechanism. This adjustment is for the lazy...proper adjustment is only done by removing the rear brakes, cleaning and adjusting from the handbrake adjuster. also test with deer Movement on the ground and not in the air. when the wheel touches and the roll is on the ground the conditions are real. This from me, after thirty-five years of the same job.

Not correct way. Handbrake lever in drums will be seized. JLV recordings has a good video addressing this
