Thomas splendid playing. Happy memories of St Mary le Bow as the Britain-Australia Society held their Carol Service there. I remember such nice people there and the old fashioned Bow Lane! Love the scenes around the church which are very special.

Beautiful piece of Haendel. Very well played and I notice the pedal even if I don't see it. 🎹

Indeed so David. Lots of rich chords and ability to arrange most textures for organ.

Thank you Thomas. I've never been to Temple Church where I think George Thalben Ball was for many years and also Birmingham City organist before Thomas Trotter. However I love St Bride's Fleet St! David

Excellent top class. Could you please confirm whether thus piece has been played on a Single Manual Pipe organ. Please ignore the query pertaining to the type of Organ as i can see that 2 manuals are being played
@thomasallery3 жыл бұрын
It would be possible to play this piece on a one manual organ however!

@@thomasallery Thank you for your response Thomas. I was always under the impression that for "Western Classical Recitals" particularly for the "Baroque Genre" in order to achieve a good sound a 2 manual Pipe or Digital Organ was required. I think the tone on a 2 or 3 manual organ could be more grand than that of a Single manual organ. Would appreciate if you could you advise whether Single manual pipe organs are used in churches in the UK these days.

@@samlazarus4665 There are a variety of 1, 2, 3, 4 manual organs in the UK. It isn't actually the number of manuals which makes a difference to the sound of the organ - that is really to do with the layout of the organ (often with sections of the organ being in different places and being linked to a particular keyboard). For different repertoire on the organ (whether baroque or other), it is more about finding the right quality of sound for the music rather than the number of manuals!
